Year 1 Part 3

Battle of Mon Calamari

The anger and mistrust against the Mon Calamari people had grown within the ranks of their neighbors, the Quarren, and the collective intelligence of the Moappa. The Quarren Isolation League was established to counter the relations with the outside galaxy that the Mon Calamari dominated.
When the
Confederacy of Independent Systems intervened in local politics, Grand Master Yoda sent a task force to Dac led by Jedi Master Kit Fisto to assist the Mon Calamari.
Fisto was determined to defeat the rebel Quarrens, and restore peace to Mon Calamari, a somewhat important planet in
galactic affairs.

The battle

At the beginning of hostilities, the Quarren Isolation League attacked Calamari cities with the help of CIS battle droids.
Upon arrival, Fisto's fleet of
Acclamator-class assault ships landed in the broad oceans of Dac. From his command ship, the Jedi Master leaped into battle with an army of Clone SCUBA troopers, engaging the Quarren army in its own element.
The battle eventually settled around a large self-propelled
artillery cannon. It managed to fire two shots, destroying one Acclamator-class assault ship before Kit Fisto was able to destroy the cannon's legs with massive force bubbles. With the aid of the native Mon Calamari Knights, the gun was pushed over the edge of a chasm and destroyed. The fighting continued for several more days as the elusive Moappa telepathic swarm consciousness continued its command of the Quarren, angered by the Mon Calamari's arrogance in claiming their planet for themselves.
Fisto destroyed several Quarren outposts, and interrogated survivors as to the whereabouts of their commander. Having found that all the Quarren soldiers received their commands telepathically, he managed to locate the Moappa, engage them in combat, and learn of their intentions. Dispersing the Moappa to such a degree as to deny them their collective intelligence, Fisto returned to the Mon Calamari victorious.

Aftermath

Fisto advised the Mon Cals to use their diplomatic techniques to deal with the Moappa's demands. Afterwards, he presumably left the planet.

Battle of Dantooine

Attempting to strike back at the Republic incursion on Muunilinst, the Confederacy of Independent Systems used Dantooine as a staging point to launch an attack against the assault ship blockade around the Intergalactic Banking Clan headquarters. However, Jedi Master Mace Windu learned of the Confederate presence on Dantooine, and left with a force of clone troopers to halt the progress of the Separatists.

The battle

The battle erupted on Dantooine as clones and droids clashed in a vast, open plain. Clones used PLX-1 portable missile launcher to destroy scores of droids, whereas the droids used their own missile launchers to shoot down many gunships and overwhelming numbers to cause many casualties in the clone ranks. However, with Master Windu at their side, the clones slowly gained the upper hand, despite being outnumbered nearly four to one by Confederate super battle droids. However, the battle was suddenly turned upside down with the arrival of a large siege weapon—the seismic tank. This tank used its seismic driver—used for mining operations in peaceful days—to cut a swath through the clone trooper ranks, either crushing them outright or sending soldiers flying from the shockwave. In the confusion, Windu lost his lightsaber, and was forced to fight a number of droids unarmed. The ability with the Force that he showed in that battle has since become legendary. During the fight, he destroyed many droids by punching them and in one particular fight, Windu disassembled a super battle droid and used its pieces to destroy many droids that were trying to kill him.
Retrieving his lightsaber amid another seismic shockwave, Windu flew towards the seismic tank. Windu cut his way in, disabled the seismic driver, destroyed the tank's droid crew by pushing the crew out the window, and knocked out the controls. Flying clear, Windu watched on as the seismic tank smashed into the ground and exploded.
After he landed,
a small boy gave him a bottle of water. The battle was won.

Attack on the failed Jedi students

A taskforce of droids was dispatched during the battle to attack a farm that was ran by failed Jedi students. With the help of their Force powers and their banthas, the former Jedi were able to defeat their attackers, despite their lack of weapons. Afterwards, they fled the planet in their airship and decided to fly it to Coruscant.

Battle of Ilum

Following the start of the Muunilinst campaign, Count Dooku ordered an attack on the Crystal Caves on Ilum, sending a force of chameleon droids to destroy the temple and the lightsaber crystals housed within. As these battle droids began landing on the snow-covered surface of Ilum, Barriss Offee was completing construction of a lightsaber within the temple itself, supervised by Luminara Unduli.

The skirmish

Both Jedi felt the approach of the chameleon droids, and began the counterattack. The droids, using camouflage to hide from the Jedi, had already began laying mines within the temple, causing explosions that caused the caves to collapse. Though they fought valiantly, the Jedi were unable to stop the detonation, and became trapped under a pile of rubble held aloft by the weakening Luminara's Force power.
Meanwhile, traveling aboard
Senator Padmé Amidala's H-type Nubian yacht, Jedi Master Yoda sensed trouble on Ilum, and convinced Amidala to divert her course for the planet. Her bodyguard, Gregar Typho, was less easily persuaded, though a Jedi mind trick soon brought him around to Yoda's point-of-view. The yacht arrived at Ilum, and Yoda immediately set out for the Crystal Caves alone, asking his companions to remain with the ship. Amidala, however, braved the dangers of Ilum—both natural and otherwise—with C-3PO and R2-D2 in tow, believing Yoda would require her help.
Both Yoda and Amidala soon encountered the cloaked chameleon droids, though while they proved little match for Yoda's lightsaber, Padmé was forced to rely on her wits to survive their attack. She used her cloak as a decoy, sighting and destroying one of her attackers as they opened fire. Using the same trick with Threepio, she destroyed the last two droids.

Aftermath

Fortunately, C-3PO emerged from the firefight unscathed, and the team continued on its way. Presently, they encountered Yoda, who had by now rescued Unduli and Offee from the ruined temple. Though Yoda had completed his mission, he still did not know who had sent the chameleon droids. Artoo, plugging into a damaged chameleon droid's head, uncovered a hologram of Dooku ordering the temple's attack.

Duel on Yavin 4

Immediately upon arrival Anakin briefly explored his surroundings, and, after the arrival of a platoon of clones that had arrived via an CR20 troop carrier on Obi-Wan's orders, began to seek out his mysterious challenger. Ventress however, was able to ambush and kill off all of the clone troopers, destroying their transport and Anakin's starfighter, the Azure Angel, along with R4-G4 before revealing herself, approaching the young Jedi as she emerged from within the flaming wreckage and igniting her weapons.

The duel

As the duel began however, Anakin proved that he was able to hold his own against Ventress despite her command of the dark side of the Force. As Anakin was about to strike, Ventress Force pushed him, avoiding the attack. Skywalker returned the favor with another Force Push, Ventress then answered by throwing a tree at Anakin. Anakin performed a sun djem and managed to knock both lightsabers that Ventress had drawn out of her hands. However, when he went to finish her off, she leaped into the treetops and pulled both swords back to her. Anakin swiftly followed, but then he lost sight of her. Ventress used the force to snap the branch Anakin was on, but as he fell he managed to hang onto a vine, which was then also cut by Ventress. After this, Anakin spotted her again. The antagonists leapt through the jungle, going deeper and deeper into the forests of that moon and using the Force to hurl entire trees at each other as they fought, jumped from tree to tree and cut vines they swung on. Eventually they landed on a raised walkway and Ventress attempted to use Dun Möch to knock Skywalker from the walkway. Skywalker attacked, forcing Ventress to back off in the face of his assault. Soon he forced her into a Massassi Temple; once inside their battle became even more violent as they made their way to the higher levels. Viciously utilizing the Force against Ventress, Anakin hurled her backwards; she attempted to retaliate in kind by hurling loose boulders at the Padawan, but he deflected them, Force pushing her against a wall so hard that it shattered. The battle, which had degenerated into an all-out brawl, moved outside onto the rain-slicked ledges and stairways of the temple. Both combatants, their robes tattered and soaked from the rain, paused and regarded each other.[9]
The
lightsaber duel soon resumed its violent tattoo. Ventress was able to knock Anakin's lightsaber out of his hand, but before she could capitalize on this opportunity for a killing blow, Anakin responded by catching her by the wrists. Drawing upon his anger, he crushed her left wrist with his mechanical hand, causing her to drop the saber she held much to her own abject shock. Taking up her lightsaber, Skywalker continued to strike at her with vicious slashing attacks and power lunges, driving her back to the edge of the temple peak. He struck harder and harder until the force from the attacks made the stone she was standing on crumble, causing her to fall off of the edge of the temple and into the jungle depths. Anakin then roared in rage.

Aftermath

Assuming that she was dead, Anakin tossed the lightsaber that he had seized over the precipice; he then commandeered Ventress's Ginivex-class starfighter and returned to Muunilinst where, following the battle, Obi-Wan berated him for ignoring orders and running off on his own.[8] Some time later, Palpatine sent Mas Amedda to the moon to acquire piranha beetles and a Massassi frieze.

Battle of the Llon Nebulae

Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi were coming back from the battle of Muunilinst when they spotted a fleet. They believed it to be the new CIS Storm Fleet, on its way to Cyphar.

The battle

The two Jedi took off, trying to stop the CIS fleet. Anakin lead it into an asteroid field. He destroyed two CIS freighters and made another retreat from the battle.

Battle of Cyphar

The fleet had been delayed at the Battle of the Llon Nebulae, giving a Republic fleet enough time to arrive. Nearly half of the Storm Fleet was destroyed, and Cyphar remained in Republic hands.

Battle of Brentaal IV

The Galactic Republic had received information that a Separatist stronghold would be lying dormant for a few weeks opening a window of opportunity, as well that the planet was seceding to the Confederacy. The world of Brentaal IV was a vital link in the Perlemian Trade Route connecting the Core Worlds and the Tion Cluster. Holding this planet would be of great significance to the war effort. The Republic sent what should have been an adequate task force for the job, comprising of four Jedi and a strong compliment of clone troops and air land vehicles, with the entire effort being coordinated by Jedi Master Plo Koon, in orbit.

The battle

As it turned out the information was bad, and the Stronghold was alive and ready for action. The Separatists' headquarters were controlled by a Brentaal clan leader called Shogar Tok, who managed to get the planet to revolt and join the Confederacy of Independent Systems. A grand land battle ensued with Republic, and Separatist forces striking, falling back, regrouping, and striking again. When the battle seemed to be turning in the favor of the Separatists, the Jedi Master Shon Kon Ray, who was in command of the air forces contacted Plo Koon. They were outnumbered, and Jedi Master Shon Kon Ray was in favor of a full retreat. The communiqué was barely complete before his ship was shot down, killing him and his troopers.
Jedi Master
Shaak Ti, believing that they still had a chance to prevail, sent word to Plo Koon that she was going to attempt to rally the Republic forces at the fortress for one last push. The amount of forces that converged on the fortress showed just how well their chances looked. About four troops found their way to meet Jedi Master Shaak Ti at the entrance to the fortress sewers. They decided that the Republic's best chances laid in the destruction of the fortress' ion cannon batteries and shield generators, that way an airship could do a bombing run and completely decimate the opposition.
As Master Ti's force moved into the fortress, they realized what it really was—a prison. The commotion on the surface had incited a jail break. Master Ti, realizing the need for more troops, guaranteed the prisoners their freedom if they would help her bring the fortress down. The group of prisoners included the hidden
Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos, who had been lost to the Jedi council for some years; Sagoro Autem, a Senate Guard gone renegade; and a criminal named Lyshaa, who had been imprisoned on Brentaal IV. Lyshaa was also the one who claimed the life of Ti's former Padawan, Fe Sun.
The force progressed throughout the fortress as long as they could until they had to split up. Quinlan Vos and Autem would go after the guns, the
single clone trooper left in the company would go after the shield generators, and Master Ti and Lyshaa went off to capture Shogar Tok.
The gun team was bogged down by a roving guard squad on duty, and participated in a brief fire fight with them before surrendering briefly. Quinlan Vos used his Force powers to turn the tables, and with his sabotage done, the guns were disabled. The clone trooper assigned to the shields was critically wounded by a grenade launcher, but managed to rig his rifle to self-destruct, destroying the generator.
Master Ti had the idea to use Lyshaa to tempt Shogar Tok with her womanly charms. She did, but eventually betrayed Master Ti, and shot her. All seemed lost until Master Ti regained consciousness and killed Shogar Tok. She spared the treasonous team member, who died on her escape in a lightstorm chamber immediately afterwards.

Battle of Esseles

When a Separatist-funded government faction declared that the planet had joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems, a Republic loyalist resistance movement was formed and they clashed for five days. The loyalists won and forced the faction out.

Mission to Nivek

The Jedi Council, believing the native Shadowmen were hiding Separatist weapons on their homeworld, dispatched Kenobi and Skywalker to investigate. Upon arrival on the so-called 'night planet', the Jedi found themselves plunged into darkness. Mace Windu had feared that such a place would be perfect for an ambush, and he was proved right when swarms of Shadowmen warriors attacked the two Jedi. Using a variety of weapons, including sonic blasters, the Shadowmen almost overwhelmed the two Jedi.
Using
the Force, the Jedi were able to defend themselves and found their way to a secret CIS base. Relying entirely on their Jedi senses, Kenobi and Skywalker staged a hasty assault on the foundry, cutting down several battle droids as they ascended the steps to the main entrance. Skywalker planted a charge in the base, and the two Jedi fled before the entire facility was consumed by the resulting explosion.

Battle of Iktotch

Jedi Masters Mace Windu and Saesee Tiin—himself an Iktotchi—arrived on the planet to free it from the droid forces of the Separatists. They saw that they had different uses of the Force, talking about precision and power.
At the beginning of the battle, the two Jedi Masters
Force Pushed B2 super battle droids, Windu destroying a squad of B1 battle droids. Along with clone troopers, the Jedi advanced. They then crushed a Super Battle Droid into a Hailfire droid. Just when the two Jedi began searching the Command Center, a prototype ultra battle droid that the Separatists had created appeared. The droid opened fire and killed a clone trooper, and the two Jedi thought of a strategy to defeat it.
They then destroyed the droid one piece at a time: first, they destroyed its
sensors, then hit its knees. At this point, the droid launched some homing missiles, but the Jedi used the Force to change the course of the missiles, making them to hit back the droid, which surprisingly survived. However, the Jedi quickly finished it, using a combination of speed and strength, managing to free Iktotch and understanding that both precision and power are needed.

Battle of Terra Sool

In the Battle of Terra Sool, the local militia rebelled against the Confederacy of Independent Systems occupation forces, and were aided by a Galactic Republic task force led by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.

The battle

Due to the planet's atmosphere blocking sensors, they were initially unaware of the presence of massive floating command stations in use by CIS forces that were chewing up the militia fighters.
When Kenobi and Skywalker began attacking the platforms, the CIS forces in space started sending waves of missiles to the surface in an attempt to
BDZ the world, but they were destroyed by Skywalker, who eliminated them in a series of complex acrobatics. He destroyed the next wave by Force pushing a platform into their path.

Battle of Nadiem

A droid army, commanded by General Grievous was marching through Threadneedle Canyon to a city being evacuated by Luminara Unduli and Barriss Offee. A strike team led by Barriss attempted to set off explosives to block the droid army's path, but then she decided to play dead as the droid army walked past and attack them from the rear. Then they set off explosives, tumbling the canyon walls on top of the droids. An orbital blockade under Saesee Tiin prevented additional CIS reinforcements and air forces from reaching the planet.
Grievous' remaining forces were eventually defeated, and he fled the system in
his starfighter, severely wounding B'dard Tone and killing his Padawan before escaping into hyperspace.
It was during the Battle of Nadiem that
Crys Taanzer's husband was killed and her son, Kennan, was taken into the Jedi Order.

mission to an unidentified planet

The mission was a covert operation under the command of General Mace Windu.
Arriving on a
LAAT/i gunship, the objective was to stop a weapon being developed for Count Dooku, the weapon was known as 'the Planet Killer'. The LAAT/i however was shot down, and Windu's force of clones were all dead, after burying them, he continued the mission.
Through lessons learned likely as a
Jedi Padawan, Windu strived to complete his mission. Reaching a bridge, the Jedi Master encountered his first sign of Confederacy of Independent Systems droids. He fought his way through a large group of droids, defeating them all.
Upon reaching the 'Planet Killer', Windu fought and defeated two
B2 super battle droids and then disabled the weapon by destroying its detonator.

Aftermath

As a result of the Planet Killer's failure, Count Dooku sped up plans for his own superweapon.

Mission to Ord Mantell

The mission's objective was to obtain an artifact which was to be delivered to Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. An ARC trooper planned the battle, and the assault force consisted of eight Republic Commandos divided into Blue Squad and White Squad. The artifact was, at the time, in the hands of Trandoshan bounty hunters en-route to meet a Separatist contact.

Ambush

At midday on Ord Mantell, the Republic Commandos set up in rooftop positions on nearby buildings in order to ambush the bounty hunters. The Trandoshans arrived in three speeders, each carrying three of the reptilian hunters. The leader of the Trandoshans was riding in the second speeder and was identified as the carrier of the package. The clones on the rooftops aimed and shot down the first speeder. One of the commandos identified himself and ordered the bounty hunters to hand over the object, but was quickly gunned down. Another one of the speeders was quickly destroyed, but the third, containing the Trandoshan leader, escaped to a nearby industrial park.
The commandos tracked the remaining bounty hunters through the complex, and engaged the last few Trandoshans, who were being assisted by
battle droids. The speeder pilot was shot down easily. The leader of the commandos thew a bomb that electrified the droids. They went into the room and finished the droids. They breached another door. The room inside contained the Trandoshands. The Green Weapon Commando was shot down by a one-eyed Trandoshan. He was then shot down by another commando. RC-1013 threw a bomb to a Trandoshan with glasses. The leader Trandoshan appeared and shot down the Blue Weapon Commando. RC-1013 attacked the Trandoshan and killed him. RC-1013 then took the package and left the four bodies on the ground.

Battle of unidentified planet (A Stranger in Town )

The battle took place six months after the outbreak of the Clone Wars in a small town on an unidentified world. Intelligence on the CIS's planned offensive allowed Master Yoda to travel to the town before the droid army arrived, and he arrived with a large crate in tow. The leader of the CIS forces had a large army of droids under his command, including B1 battle droids, B2 super battle droids and DSD1 dwarf spider droids.
Yoda unpacked the crate to reveal a large turret which decimated the entire droid army, before engaging the droids' commander and scaring him away.

Battle of unidentified planet (One Battle)

An unknown unit of clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic engaged in a large-scale battle on this planet. They were steadily losing ground, eventually leaving only a small group of clone troopers and a pair of ARC troopers forming the last line of defense protecting a large city. The shield protecting the trench that the clones were using for cover was about to fail, and with no help available it looked as though the day would be lost; as a large force of battle droids and tanks approached, the shield finally collapsed. The clone forces sent one final message and engaged their opponents, destroying at least one tank when their attack caught the droids by surprise.
A
LAAT/i gunship approached, however it was fired upon and destroyed. A Jedi General managed to jump clear of the transport before the craft's destruction, however, and engaged the droid army. It was the Kel Dor Jedi Master Plo Koon; though the clones were unable to understand the language he spoke, they eventually found a way to communicate with the Jedi using hand signals, and the droid army was defeated as the Jedi brought down its artillery pieces on top of the droid infantry.

Six Skirmishes on the Corellian Trade Route

Raiders associated with the CIS had been attacking Republic convoys on the Corellian Trade Route including five which hailed directly from Coruscant. The raiders' tactic was to use a gravity well to pull the ships from hyperspace and into an ambush for which the craft were unprepared. The fates of the crews are uncertain but one known casualty was Elsah, who, having contacted the Jedi Council and told it of the loss, died shot down by the bounty hunter Aurra Sing.

Mission to Devaron

In 22 BBY a Jedi task force, composed by Aayla Secura, Kit Fisto, An'ya Kuro, Masters Tholme and T'ra Saa, was assigned to investigate Confederacy raids on Republic's supply ships near the Corellian Trade Spine.

The mission
They discovered that the raiders' base was located on
Devaron, due to Senator Elsah's help, who informed his old friend T'ra Saa of the raiders presence on the planet. Elsah was killed by Aurra Sing before she was able to reveal the name of traitor who was working alongside the Separatists. Aayla, Tholme, and the Dark Woman went to the planet surface while Kit and T'ra Saa stayed in orbi. Tholme's team disguised themselves as a rich twi'lek's daughter and her servants and stayed with the senator, Vien'sai'Malloc.
The Dark Woman and Tholme went seaching for the base, but fell into a trap set by Aurra Sing. The senator was proven to be a traitor, and told Aayla where the raider's base was. Aayla left to go look for it, but met Aurra Sing. Aurra used the two trapped Jedi masters as a trick to distract Aayla, but the latter defeated the former and sent her to prison on
Oovo IV.

Battle of unidentified planet (Xiaan Amersu)

Xiaan Amersu led her clone troopers into battle for the first time, and while details of the battle are unknown, it is safe to assume that her mission was successful, as Amersu later took part in the Siege of Saleucami.

Mission to Nar Shaddaa

The Mission to Nar Shaddaa was an opportunity for Quinlan Vos, who had been working undercover gathering intelligence for the Jedi Council, to appear as if he was no longer a part of the Jedi Order. By doing this, Vos would be able to infiltrate deeper into the Separatist's inner circle.
Following reports that linked Vos to the events that took place on
Brentaal IV, many Jedi started to think he might have really been a traitor. However, the Jedi Council kept their faith in him and allowed him to "defect" from the Order. They sent an unknowing Agen Kolar to go after Vos on Nar Shaddaa.
On the Smuggler's Moon, Kolar encountered Vos and the two dueled. Kolar, believing that he was doing his duty to punish the traitor, nearly killed him, but Vos escaped, just as planned. The Jedi Council now had their operative deeper in the enemy's ranks.

Battle of Haruun Kal

While Haruun Kal was not much of a military target, the population had many Force-sensitive beings, which the Republic wanted to keep away from the Separatists. Depa Billaba was sent to train the people of the world to fight against the Separatists. This was successful in itself, but after a holo showing Depa Bilabba killing an innocent person, Mace Windu was sent to capture his former apprentice. Eventually, after a fight, Mace put his former apprentice under arrest, and called the Republic cruiser Halleck. At this time, tribes on the planet started warring with each other.
Halleck arrived in-system, and was immediately attacked by
Vulture Droids. It started deploying gunships, which came under attack by the droid starfighters. Clone troopers with Repulsorpacks started spilling out of the Halleck, and put themselves in front of the droid starfighters to destroy them. Some of the landing craft made it to the surface, but many were picked off. CT-6/774, a bubble-gun turreter on a Republic Gunship, was blown off his gunship in space. With the help of an RP trooper, he was positioned, and destroyed the last droid starfighter.
On the surface, Mace Windu used the gunships to destroy the droid starfighters that followed them onto the surface, then ordered the clones to take out a nearby droid control station.
Lorz Geptun was forced to surrender to the Republic, and Depa stayed in a coma. Many clone troopers were killed on the surface. A Republic force stayed on Haruun Kal to police the local tribes.

Battle of Amaltanna

The forces of the Grand Army of the Republic were led by the Jedi Bultar Swan. Everyone, except Swan and the insectoid CIS commander, perished, although the latter was incarcerated in his own fortress thanks to Swan.

Battle of Antar 4

Separatist loyalists clashed with the Antarian Rangers who held order on the planet after the Battle of Antar 4 during the Separatist Crisis. Count Dooku bombarded the planet, decimating the Rangers and allowing him to conquer it and set up a new command HQ there.
