Rescueing Rotta the Hutt

Battle of Christophsis
The battle of Christophsis had raged for some time, with Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker having seemingly scored a victory against their opposite number, Confederacy General Whorm Loathsom.
But Loathsom's retreat was a ploy. Once the
Republic Venator-class Star Destroyer Resolute had been dispatched for supplies, he launched an attack, battle droids advancing on the front while Tri-droids brought up the rear. He succeeded in catching Republic forces off guard. Despite Loathsom's surprise attack, Kenobi and Skywalker were able to beat back the droids, using artillery barrages to halt their advances while Obi-Wan lead a charge and Anakin and Torrent Company took out the Tri-droids. Loathsom once again pulled back, and it was during this lull in the fighting that a shuttle from Coruscant landed in City Plaza, bearing young Padawan learner Ahsoka Tano, Anakin's new apprentice. From the shuttle, they contacted Admiral Wullf Yularen to ask for reinforcements.
Loathsom soon launched yet another attack, this time advancing his forces behind an expanding deflector shield, negating the Republic's artillery batteries. Whilst General Kenobi and Rex marshaled a defense of the Republic base, Anakin and Ahsoka infiltrated the Separatist positions by hiding under a box. Once the advance forces passed them by, the pair slowly made their way to the shield generator but ran into a destroyer droid. After defeating it, they arrived at the generator but Ahsoka accidentally alerted retail droids. As she set the charges to destroy the generator, Anakin held off the droids. But, seeing her master in trouble, Ahsoka brought down a wall with a convenient hole on the droid without hurting her master.
Meanwhile, Obi-Wan "surrendered" to Loathsom and was brought to a crystal table to discuss "terms of surrender". After having a few cups of tea, Obi-Wan requested to have his troops properly fed if taken prisoner. But Loathsom knew he was stalling and demanded he call off his troops. Just then, Anakin and Ahsoka destroyed the shield generator. The clone artillery then annihilated the droid armies, just as Republic reinforcements arrived and Loathsom was forced to surrender.

Aftermath
Following the battle,
Grand Master Yoda arrived planetside to inform Obi-Wan and Anakin that Jabba the Hutt's son, Rotta, had been kidnapped by a group of renegades and they were called upon to rescue him.
Battle of Teth
Working with Ziro the Hutt, the Separatists kidnapped Rotta, son of Jabba Desilijic Tiure. Jabba sent bounty hunters out to find his son, as well as request the Republic's help. But the Jedi Order could only spare Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Obi-Wan went to Jabba, promising to save Rotta in exchange for passage through Hutt space. But when he left, Count Dooku then entered the palace, convincing Jabba that the Jedi were the kidnappers.
The bounty hunters and Republic scouts tracked Rotta to a
Bo'marr Monastery on Teth. The former were captured and decapitated, their heads sent back to Jabba.
The battle
For much of the battle, the clone troopers and walkers used special grappling technology to go up almost completely vertical cliffs, to reach a citadel at the top. The droid forces at the very top had a major advantage as just a few shots from a DSD1 dwarf spider droid could send an AT-TE plummeting backwards to the ground. But with the skills of the two Jedi, the battle became easier and in the midst of the fighting, Skywalker stole a STAP, using it to great effect. Unfortunately, Skywalker lost a large number of men before reaching the top of the cliff.
Later when Republic forces reached the top, they faced even greater competition than before from more droids until finally the Republic pulled through and captured the
B'omarr Monastery. As Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano went into the castle, they found a silver droid named 4A-7. The Droid told them that the Separtist kept their prisoners in the lower levels. Little did they know, the droid was a spy droid working for Asajj Ventress. Captain Rex and his men held their guard at the door. But outside, Asajj and her droid battalions were waiting. When her droids failed to open the door, she literally sliced through it with her lightsaber. Due to overwhelming numbers of enemy forces, Torrent Company was defeated and captured. The two Jedi found Rotta and made their way to the back landing pad and called for a backup medical crew to help Rotta. As the gunship arrived, a Vulture Droid destroyed the ship. As Asajj tried cutting through the door to the palace, the Jedi then jumped onto a can-cell, a large flying insect, and flew to another mesa. There they captured the freighter Twilight and attempted to rendezvous with the Spirit of the Republic. However, a squadron of Vulture Droids destroyed the hangar, forcing them to go directly to Tatooine in the freighter. Meanwhile, Rex and the five remaining members of Torrent Company were making a defiant last stand against Ventress' droid armies. They managed to hold out until Obi-Wan Kenobi arrived on the Spirit of the Republic with the 212th Attack Battalion. While the 212th cleared away the remaining the droid forces, Kenobi pursued Ventress inside the monastery. There, the two dueled before he managed to defeat the Dark Jedi and she was forced to make a quick escape.
Duel on Teth
After the Galactic Republic was offered an alliance with the Hutt clans by Jabba Desilijic Tiure, in return for their recovering of his kidnapped son, Rotta, Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, were dispatched to Teth, where clone troopers had tracked the Huttlet. Skywalker's forces engaged in a brief battle with Separatist battle droids, before he and his apprentice rescued Jabba's son.
However, the Jedi suspected this was a trap, designed by
Count Dooku to frame the Republic for the Huttlet's demise, and hence cause the Hutt clans to join the Confederacy of Independent Systems; which was proven correct after they were confronted by Dooku's Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress, who saught to destroy the young Hutt. The Jedi escaped with Rotta, while reinforcements arrived under High General Obi-Wan Kenobi, who proceeded to confront Ventress himself.
The duel
As the Jedi Master entered the B'omarr Monastery, Ventress had her bodyguards, two B2 super battle droids fire on him and used the time it took him to destroy them, to flee further into the fortress. As Kenobi searched for his foe, he taunted her; telling the Dark Jedi he could feel her frustration, at failing to capture the Huttlet, through the Force. Ventress leaped from her hiding place, bringing down her two lightsabers atop Kenobi's. The Separatist commander then leapt away from her enemy, before flinging her skirt into the path of the Jedi Master, blocking his sight. Ventress then leapt at him, however, despite the interference he easily parried her blows.
Kenobi again taunted his foe, however, she disarmed him. Whilst Ventress attempted to destroy him, Kenobi held her back, despite being weaponless. Calling his lightsaber back to his hand, the duel continued into the center of the monastery, both combatants using Force acrobatics to leap and evade each other. Kenobi leaped atop a bridge, before Ventress followed, and had her slashes continuously parried. Ventress then surprised the Jedi by forming her lightsabers into a
saberstaff.
Avoiding his foe, Kenobi leapt out of a window onto another bridge. Whilst the pair did battle atop the bridge, they sensed Skywalker leaving the system; meaning he had successfully escaped with Rotta the Huttlet. Ventress activated a beacon, before a droid controlled ship arrived. Kenobi then watched as his enemy leaped from the bridge onto the safety of the ship and escaped.

Aftermath
While the
Battle of Teth was ultimately a victory for the Republic, Skywalker and Tano faced trouble on Tatooine. While attempting to return Rotta to his father, the pair sensed the presence of Count Dooku, who planned to rectify Ventress's failure by killing Rotta, and so split up. Skywalker ultimately confronted the Sith, before escaping. Tano defeated three of Dooku's droid bodyguards and successfully arrived at Jabba's Palace; returning his son to safety.
Though Jabba originally believed the Separatist fabrication that the Republic was behind his son's kidnapping and attempted murder, a timely communication from
Senator Padmé Amidala, which implicated Jabba's uncle Ziro, ultimately absolved Tano and Skywalker, who were scheduled for execution for their perceived part in the plot. Amidala then proceeded to negotiate an alliance between the Republic and the Hutt's, which gave them an advantage in the Clone Wars.
Battle of Tatooine
The Battle of Tatooine during the Clone Wars comprised three separate skirmishes starting with a dogfight in orbit between two MagnaGuards in Porax-38 starfighters and Anakin Skywalker's commandeered freighter, Twilight. Skywalker and R2-D2 were able to destroy their attackers, though they were shot down in the process and forced to crash land in the Dune Sea. This event led to the following duels:
Duel on the Dune Sea
As night fell over the desert, Count Dooku intercepted Skywalker. He then unleashed a barrage of Force lightning at him, though Skywalker deflected the attack with his lightsaber. The Dark Lord then engaged Skywalker in a battle of blades. Skywalker used the Force to hurl a torrent of sand at Dooku, who retaliated with a blast of his own that knocked the Jedi off his feet, knocking his lightsaber from his hand. Dooku used that moment to bring a killing overhead strike down on Skywalker who, at the last moment, called his weapon back to his hand in time to block the attack.
As they continued battling one another, the
Sith Lord showed Skywalker a hologram of Ahsoka Tano fighting three IG-100 MagnaGuards elsewhere in the desert. Knowing that his new Padawan was in danger, Skywalker quickly disarmed his opponent and disengaged from the fight in order to help Tano. He departed on Dooku's own speeder.
duel outside Jabba's Palace
As night fell, Ahsoka approached the cliffs leading up to Jabba's Palace. Just as she sensed danger, three IG-100 MagnaGuards sprang up from concealment under the sand. Ahsoka drew her lightsaber to contend with the electrostaffs wielded by the MagnaGuards. R2-D2 attacked one of the droids with his charge arm, but his bravery was short-lived as he was quickly disabled by a strike from an electrostaff. Ahsoka was able to hold her own against the battle droids, but was unable to gain an upper hand.
At the same time as her own duel, Anakin had been battling Dooku, during which the
Sith Lord showed Skywalker a hologram of Ahsoka battling the Magnaguards. Knowing that his padawan was in peril, Skywalker disarmed Dooku and departed to help Tano using Dooku's own speeder.
As Ahsoka began to tire, she saw her master fly by on the hillside above. Though she called out to Skywalker, he did not hear her and continued to Jabba's Palace. Knowing she was on her own, Ahsoka regained her focus and was able to at last vanquish her droid enemies.

Aftermath
Having defeated her foes, Ahsoka arrived in the throne room to return Jabba's son. Upon arrival in the throne room, she found Skywalker seized by Jabba's henchmen, about to be executed. Still believing the Jedi plotted to destroy him, the gangster ordered both padawan and Master to be killed immediately.
A timely communication from
Republic Senator Padmé Amidala revealed Jabba's own uncle, Ziro, to be the culprit behind the kidnapping along with Count Dooku. Jabba, now acknowledging the Jedi truly had rescued his son, granted the Republic safe passage through Hutt space. Skywalker and his padawan were then retrieved by Jedi Masters Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Year 4

Battle of Neimoidia

The Battle of Neimoidia was a battle that occurred on Neimoidia towards the end of the Clone Wars. The Grand Army of the Republic infiltrated the planet and burned several grub-hatcheries. It was followed by the Battle of Deko Neimoidia.

Battle of Deko Neimoidia

The Battle of Deko Neimoidia was a battle fought during the Clone Wars, prior to the fall of Cato Neimoidia and around the time of the Outer Rim Sieges.
Towards the end of the war, the
Republic forced the Trade Federation out of its purse worlds in the Colonies, sending the Neimoidians fleeing to the Outer Rim Territories. Deko Neimoidia, one such purse world, was invaded by the clone troopers of the 22nd, led by Jedi General Roan Shryne.
Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Commander Cody were part of the assault on the Trade Federation's citadel, and they were able to use the floorplans of the fortress to their advantage in their later attempt to capture Nute Gunray. The clone commandos of Ion Team also participated in the battle, and General Shryne earned the respect of Captain Climber, the team leader who later saved Shryne's life.

Battle of Koru Neimoidia

The Battle of Koru Neimoidia was a battle during the Clone Wars.
The
Galactic Republic devastated the planet as part of an offensive against the last Separatist strongholds in the Colonies, forcing the Trade Federation leadership to take refuge on Cato Neimoidia.

First Battle of Cato Neimoidia

With a large Republic counterattack against the Core World gains made in Operation Durge's Lance, General Grievous had ordered all members of the Council to retreat to a rendezvous point in the Outer Rim Territories.
Gunray, however, fled to the
purse world, Cato Neimoidia, with a battle group of Federation warships, intending to loot his personal citadel before it fell to the Republic onslaught. Republic Intelligence obtained information as to his whereabouts, and a task force led by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker was pulled from the Outer Rim Sieges and sent to wait in ambush.

The battle

A trio of Venator-class Star Destroyers commanded by Jan Dodonna engaged the Trade Federation armada in the upper atmosphere and provided air support, while the two Jedi led their army of clone troopers in an assault on the citadel, where Gunray and the Trade Federation elite were trapped. The battle raged throughout the skies of the planet’s western hemisphere, and on the peninsula upon which the viceroy’s tiered stronghold—the inspiration for the command towers of the Trade Federation Core Ships—was located.
After an initial aerial bombardment, the main clone force attacked from the northeast shore and hammered the citadel´s
energy shields, but took heavy fire from turbolaser cannons in the lower ramparts. Generals Kenobi and Skywalker led a smaller force of clones through an orchard of Manax trees outside the fort, and with the help of Commander Cody and the elite Squad Seven they infiltrated the fungus farms located underneath the structure. From there the Jedi accessed the upper levels and began pursuing Gunray and his entourage as they tried to reach their shuttle.
Although he just managed to escape, Cato Neimoidia—,the last Separatist stronghold within the
Colonies—was captured. More importantly, Republic forces captured Gunray's Mechno-chair containing a message from Darth Sidious, which thus linked the Dark Lord of the Sith to the Confederacy, as well as the communication codes that the Separatist Council used to communicate with him and each other.
Skywalker and Kenobi, along with their forces, were withdrawn for use in the Outer Rim to hunt down the makers of the Mechno-chair in order to track down Darth Sidious.

Mission to Felucia

Enter the Commerce Guild leadership
Aboard her starship,
Gossam President of the Commerce Guild Shu Mai was informed that they will land on Felucia, home to her personal holdings, in a few moments. Mai told the pilot to have her administress meet them on the executive landing platform. After landing, the administress came running forward, remarking that she had returned ahead of schedule. Mai replied by stating that her return was not a pleasure trip and asked if everything was under way. The administrator replied that they had initiated iterative asset transfer protocol and restricted all non-financial communication per her order.
She then inquired of Mai’s meeting with
Confederacy of Independent Systems. Shu Mai explained that her meeting was more like a sentence: Darth Sidious had ordered the entire Council of Separatists under Grievous’s personal protection for the remainder of the war. Mai remarked that Grievous is prepared to conquer an Outer Rim world to host the Council: he will contact her with rendezvous-coordinates soon. Entering a speeder, Mai’s administress pointed out that Grievous has dealt many blows to the Republic, remarking that the Separatist leaders are safest under his care.
But the President of the Commerce Guild replied that Grievous lived to fight: if he wanted to hide, than matters for the Confederacy were dire. Shu Mai explained that Grievous claimed the fall of the Gossam homeworld was all part of Confederacy leader
Count Dooku’s plan, but to her it felt like the Commerce Guild was expendable. The administress mentions that with the Commerce Guild’s riches, they will certainly receive aid from the Confederacy, but Shu Mai replied that one way or the other, Felucia will fall and she swears that no one will take the profits she earned from the war.

The Mission
Meanwhile, from the nearby executive landing platform, Jedi Knights
Barriss Offee and the Selonian Padawan Zonder, disguised as relief workers, were observing the speeder. Offee remarked that the Commerce Guild President had finally returned to her holdings and that they must alert the Jedi Council at once. She told Zonder to find a secure location for transmission. Zonder replied that off-world communications were restricted, pointing out that the signal will be detected, but Barriss Offee remarked that it does not matter.
Moments later, as Offee was trying to make contact with the Jedi Council on
Coruscant it became apparent that their cover was blown: several B1 battle droids were closing in. Offee pointed out that as they were undercover, they would not carry their lightsabers. Moments later, the battle droids moved in on them. Zonder managed to disable them all however. Fleeing, the Jedi headed for the closest transmission facility, which happened to be the executive landing platform.
When several
Hunter-Seeker droids rolled in, Jedi Master Barriss Offee told Zonder that they would split up and meet at the landing platform. The Selonian began to destroy the Hunter-Seekers and threw one of them into the air. Burning, it came down to where two young Gossam were playing. Without thinking, Barriss Offee used the Force to rescue them, resulting in several B1 battle droids noticing her. Closing in on her, they raised their blasters and ordered her to surrender. Zonder then jumped and destroyed two of the battle droids. His master stopped him, with the remark that there will be another time. And with that, the two Jedi surrendered.

Battle of Belderone

The Battle of Belderone resulted from intelligence gained via the captured mechno-chair of Nute Gunray.
Using it, the
Jedi intercepted a message from General Grievous, informing the members of the Separatist Council that they were to be moved to Belderone after Grievous conquered the world. The Jedi High Council dispatched a military force under Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker to defend the planet from Grievous.

The battle
When Grievous's fleet emerged from
hyperspace, they immediately came under attack by a Republic battle group of sixty capital vessels. Launching from the Integrity, the Jedi and Captain Davijaan—leading Clone Fight Squad Seven—rushed out to confront the Separatists. Kenobi and Skywalker fought their way past a swarm of over five hundred droid starfighters to the Invisible Hand, where Skywalker made a risky attack against the Separatist flagship.
Grievous himself witnessed Anakin's audacious assault, and though the little starfighter was no threat to his vessel, he was obligated to protect the lives of the
Separatist Council members, and end the battle. The Invisible Hand opened fire on a refugee convoy attempting to flee the besieged planet, causing the deaths of approximately ten thousand innocents. This caught the Republic forces by surprised, and it allowed Grievous' fleet to escape into hyperspace.
Despite the heavy losses, the Battle of Belderone was deemed a victory for
the Republic, and representatives of the planet expressed their gratitude to the Senate. However, some, including Master Yoda, considered the battle not to be a rout, as Grievous had retreated only to ensure the safety of the Separatist Council, and not because of Separatist casualties.
Because of their ambush at Belderone, the Republic knew it could no longer use the captured mechno-chair to eavesdrop on Separatist communications - the Separatists would surely realize the channel had been compromised. Grievous threatened Nute Gunray over the loss of his valuable mechno-chair, and on
Coruscant, Chancellor Palpatine debated with the Jedi the effectiveness of the rout at Belderone, balanced against the loss of a means of spying on Separatist channels.

Battle of Orto

Prelude
The foundations of the battle were laid several months before the Republic's full assault. On intelligence that a government official on neutral Orto was plotting to join the
Confederacy of Independent Systems, Jedi Nem Bees went under the guise of the deceased trader Ydde to the planet to root the traitor out.

The battle
Nem was too late, and when Financial Minister
Belo Tusus announced his allegiance to the Confederacy, Bees posed as a scared citizen as battle droids swarmed the capital. For months he remained in hiding, engaging in acts of sabotage to hamper Confederacy efforts, until he obtained the chance to call in Republic forces.
Bees proceeded to the Ortolan palace to destroy the planetary shield generator, thus allowing the forces, led by Commander
CT-65/91-6210 (Deviss), to land. He then rendezvoused with Deviss and the K Company, and they began driving the entrenched droid army out of the system. One week later, Order 66 came through. While leading an assault force on enemy lines, Deviss and his squad cut down Bees. The planet was absorbed into Imperial control after the deactivation of the droids.

Siege of Saleucami

The Siege

Having besieged the main citadel and shield generator citadel of Saleucami for five months, the Republic Army made several attempts at reaching the perimeter shield generator, so that it could be deactivated and the underground clone factories could be subjected to orbital bombardment. However, all attacks were met with fierce resistance from the Morgukai clone army and the droid army aiding them.
The Clone Army dug a massive trench around the droid positions. Finally establishing strongholds on the rim of the caldera, the armies were subjected to a massive attack by Confederate forces. This was but a diversion, as the real target was
Jedi General Oppo Rancisis, who conducted his forces with the help of battle meditation and was thus a primary factor in their successes.
Sending Anzati assassins to kill Rancisis,
Sora Bulq ended his threat, as the Jedi Master let his guard down after killing all the assassins, thus enabling Bulq to stab him from behind. Following his death, the double-agent Quinlan Vos, Rancisis' second-in-command at the time, took over his duties. The Clone Army led a final charge on the droid positions. AT-TEs successfully destroyed the AA cannons, allowing LAAT gunships to advance with the clones. Speeder bikes and LAATs hammered the droids, and before the droids could organize properly, the LAATs went back for another pass, this time accompanied by clones. As the forces raged on, ARC-170 starfighters fired missiles on a massive separatist supply dump, creating a massive explosion, destroying a section of the citadel's walls. Using this advantage, the clones trapped a droid army and easily destroyed them.
The clones continued up to the second level, destroying droids as they went. Very soon, the citadel was captured, and a team of Jedi infiltrators blew up the shield generator. Capturing the citadel proved vital, for clone snipers could easily pick apart the separatists. The Hailfire tanks and Spider walkers were also easy to gun down, due to clone heavy troopers finding ideal rocket-launching positions in wall-cracks. As the clones advanced to the remainder of the droid army, the concentrated fire of AT-TEs and LAATs successfully destroyed an orbital-range
ion cannon which had long held the Republic warships from supporting any ground assaults.
While the siege had lasted for months, Jedi Master
Tholme had been busy subverting the Separatist cloning efforts by sabotaging facilities and destroying unfinished clones. At the climax of the battle, both he and General Secura helped Vos, his former student, escape the clutches of the dark side of the Force and end the terror wrought by Sora Bulq. Quinlan killed the Dark Jedi and escaped with his colleagues, just as the Separatist citadel was razed by Republic orbital bombardment.
With the clone facilities destroyed and the Confederate dominance of the planet ended, the main battle was over.

Mopping Up

After the end of hostilities, most of the Jedi Generals moved on to other battlegrounds, leaving the remaining Separatist forces to be scoured from the planet by Stass Allie.
During the final days of the Clone Wars, Allie was in command of a small force of
clone troopers, led by Clone Commander Neyo, which had stayed behind following the Republic's recent victory on the world. The desert plains were strewn with battle debris, and carrion birds feasted on the fallen bodies of clone troopers.
When
Order 66 was enacted, Stass Allie was identified as an enemy of the Republic. Carrying out the order, Neyo hit the brakes on his speeder bike, falling in behind the Jedi. He and his wingman opened fire with their speeder-mounted laser cannons, killing Stass Allie and destroying her speeder bike.

Battle of unidentified planet (shielded city)
Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker were in command of a force of clone troopers led by Commander Cody. The Republic forces were entrenched for a campaign expected to last for months. One month into the siege, Commander Cody informed General Kenobi that under their constant bombardment of the city, the enemy shields would be overwhelmed in another 3 months, right on schedule. Anakin Skywalker arrived with lunch, consisting of insects and worms. When asked where he obtained the "meal," Anakin replied that it had come from the enemy camp after he discovered an underground entrance into the city through the sewers.
While their clone troopers continued their bombardment of the shields, the two Jedi made their way through the sewers and into the under levels of the city. From there they made their way to the
shield generator chamber and succeeded in destroying the generator which allowed the Republic forces to enter the city and obtain victory over the Separatist forces.
Aftermath
After leaving their clone troops to continue the battle, Anakin and Obi-Wan received a holonet transmission from Mace Windu and Supreme Chancellor Palpatine informing them of General Grievous's frequent trips to the planet Nelvaan. The two Jedi were dispatched to ascertain what interest the Separatists had in the Outer Rim world.

Battle of Nelvaan

Anakin's task

By following the Force, he went into a cave that led him deep beneath the surface. There, the Earth Mother of the Nelvaanians of the Force revealed to Anakin in a vision that he would become Darth Vader. Then, he awoke and discovered a siphon generator that was powered by a captured geothermal crystal. This machine kept the Rokrul region in its wintery state by draining all the thermal energy from the land.
He also saw that there was a base above him and climbed up to investigate. There, he discovered
B1 battle droids on guard duty, proving that there was indeed a Separatist presence on Nelvaan. Continuing his investigation, he discovered a pair of Skakoan combat engineers in their pressure suits conversing with each other. From their conversation, he learned that the Techno Union was creating mutant cyborgs from Nelvaanian captives for General Grievous and that there was only one unaltered Nelvaanian captive left—Harvos.

The laboratory and the siphon generator

Turning around, a horrified Anakin discovered a mutant Nelvaanian floating in a glass tank immersed in a green liquid. The unfortunate Nelvaanian had been chemically enlargened and one of his arms had been replaced with a blaster arm. Continuing, he saw more Nelvaanian captives. At the end of the chamber, he discovered the unaltered Nelvaanian Harvos in a glass case being gradually filled up with green liquid. Surrounding the cylinder, was a squad of B-1 battle droids. Above the chamber were a few Skakoan combat engineers. One of them pressed a button on a remote that activated the transformation process of Harvos. Slowly, the transformation began.
An enraged Skywalker then intervened and disposed of the squad, though the transformation still continued. The Skakoans then unleashed the mutant Nelvaanians. They were controlled by control harnesses, though Anakin did not realize their purpose. He tried to plead with the mutant Nelvaanians saying that they had been altered and had to regain control of themselves. However, they attacked him with their blaster arms and the young Jedi Knight was forced to defend himself (though he did it mainly with his
Force Pushes, trying not to wound them). Suddenly, Harvos—who had been altered—managed to burst free of his restraints and smashed the tank. He then ripped the cybernetic chestplates off two of the Nelvaanians. Anakin soon got the idea and cut the rest off using his lightsaber.
After that, Harvos spoke to his brethren, reminding them of their heritage and that they had been altered, and then telling them to attack the Techno Union engineers. After dispatching his fellow Nelvaanians, he spoke to Skywalker and pointed to the siphon generator, telling him that he had to free the trapped crystal in order to end the eternal winter. The enraged Nelvaanian warriors then rampaged through the facility, tearing battle droids apart with their bare hands, and freeing their comrades from captivity. Because they had been chemically enlarged, they had a significant advantage in the battle. The Skakoan combat engineers at the base fled for the safety of their
Hardcell-class Interstellar Transports, which had been parked above the base on the surface. Meanwhile, Anakin leaped to the top of the siphon generator and then lowered himself into the crystal chamber. He reaches his prosthetic arm into the energy sphere of the generator. He used the Force to pull the energy crystal out of its socket and shattered it in his mechanical hand. The generator exploded after and Anakin had leapt to safety, his arm destroyed. As a result, the weather began to change dramatically and the snow began to melt.
The Nelvaanian warriors reached the planet's surface, where the waiting battle droids were destroyed as the planet's artificial ice age came to an end. An enraged Skywalker clambered to the surface, where he viciously killed the Skakoan engineers trying to flee in their ship. First, he blew up a ramp with Skakoans on it with the Force and then threw more down to the Nelvaanians who finished them off. However, one of the Skakoans survived and tried to shoot Anakin Skywalker. The Jedi sensed him and used
Force Grip on him, causing his body to decompress.

Aftermath
Seeing Anakin's ravaged arm, the Nelvaan mutants worshiped him as "
Holt Kazed"—"ghost hand"—their savior, and in solidarity they tore the implanted weapons from their own arms. Anakin and the Nelvaans returned to the village shortly after the victory. The females villagers were at first horrified by the mutants, but when Harvos's child recognized her father, the familial bonds were restored. There were celebrations in the Nelvaanian village. After that, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker returned to their Venator-class Star Destroyer.

Battle of the Ywllandr system

The Battle of the Ywllandr system was a battle fought during the Outer Rim Sieges of the Clone Wars.
Jedi Master Plo Koon led a strike force of the Republic Navy against the Confederacy of Independent Systems in the Ywllandr system. Koon directed his fleet against the Separatist choke point from aboard the Venator-class Star Destroyer Courageous. Shortly after, Koon departed for Cato Neimoidia.

Third Battle of Tythe

Prelude
In an attempt to throw
Republic Intelligence off of his trail, Darth Sidious instructed General Grievous to send a small flotilla of warships to crush a Republic garrison on Tythe and occupy the world. As the former headquarters of LiMerge Power, a company connected to a secret Sith meeting area discovered in The Works, Sidious knew that the Jedi would think that he was trying to erase the trail they had been following. As an added bonus, he had Count Dooku remain on Tythe as bait for Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.
In his role as
Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, Sidious agreed that Dooku should be captured, and he convinced the Jedi to send Kenobi and Skywalker, along with a full Republic battle group to retake Tythe.
Ultimately, the entire engagement at Tythe was a diversion to draw Jedi away from the
Core in advance of a massive Separatist invasion of Coruscant.

The battle
The
Separatists had quickly placed mines at several hyperspace entry points, forcing the Republic ships to revert to realspace in a narrow window in front of the Confederacy fleet. Both sides quickly deployed their starfighters and then closed in on each other.
The Republic battle group moved first, breaking to port and delivering a long range broadside to the Separatist vessels, which responded with their own barrage. The opposing starfighter squadrons regrouped and attempted to reach the enemy
capital ships before they could restore their shields.
All this maneuvering by the Republic was a diversion, allowing
Red Squadron to reach the surface of Tythe in order to capture Dooku alive. As a backup plan, it was deemed that saturation bombardment and limited starfighter engagement would send Dooku fleeing deeper into the Outer Rim.
Anakin Skywalker led Red Squadron through the Separatist fleet, managing to destroy a
Techno Union starship on the way. Once they reached the lower atmosphere, defending Hailfire droids, STAPs, and battle droids assailed the incoming starfighters, managing to destroy all but the interceptors flown by the two Jedi.
Kenobi and Skywalker piloted their starfighters through the roof of the largest containment dome at the LiMerge Power facility, and then set off on foot to confront Dooku. Inside the enormous ruined archive hall, they encountered a life-sized
holoimage of the Count, but before they could locate him, hundreds of infantry droids surrounded them and opened fire.
Unable to reach Dooku, Anakin called upon the
Force with such ferocity that it brought down the ceiling of the vast hall. The Sith Lord managed to escape to his solar sailer before the two Jedi could dig themselves out of the rubble, and ordered a Separatist retreat. Through the Force, however, Anakin realized that Tythe was a trap to lure Jedi away from Coruscant.

Aftermath

The Separatists left Tythe, with most ships jumping Rimward, while Dooku and another group headed for the planet Nelvaan in the Koobi system in an attempt to ward off Republic pursuit. The Count then set course for Coruscant to join General Grievous, who had just managed to abduct Supreme Chancellor Palpatine.
Upon returning to the
Integrity, Anakin received a tight-beam communication from Coruscant: a distress signal from Palpatine himself. This confirmed Anakin's suspicion that the galactic capital had been invaded, and he and Obi-Wan had their starfighters refueled and rearmed immediately. The two Jedi then set course for Coruscant and jumped to the Core ahead of their battle group.

Battle of Coruscant

The Separatist invasion of the planet

Prior to the attack, the Outer Rim Sieges had enmeshed billions of Republic and Separatist warships in vast campaigns in the galaxy's spiral arms. As a result of this, most of the Republic's Jedi were locked up in battles far away from the Core Worlds, and thanks to carefully controlled propaganda, the general populace believed that a total Republic victory was near. With the Republic fleets spread throughout the Outer Rim Territories and the Coruscant Home Fleet depleted and off guard, the Confederates had an opportunity to deal a mighty blow to the Republic by attacking Coruscant. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, leader of the Republic, was aware that the Jedi were searching for a Darth Sidious, a mysterious Sith Lord who they believed had orchestrated the war. Unknown to them was that Palpatine was Sidious, and he was controlling both sides, in hopes of obtaining his true goal—complete galactic control. Palpatine planned a lightning raid on the planet led by General Grievous, Supreme Commander of the Droid Armies. Grievous assembled an armada of thousands of destroyers and frigates—led by the Providence-class destroyer Invisible Hand—for a strike on Coruscant.[2]
General Grievous timed the strike to coincide with Chancellor Palpatine's
State of the Republic Address. Thousands of delegates, including Padmé Amidala and Bail Organa, who would otherwise not have been on Coruscant, remained planetside for post-speech celebrations, and would be there when the Confederates struck.[2]
Through the use of a secret
hyperspace passage through the Deep Core supplied to them by Darth Sidious, the Separatists managed to jump right on top of the Coruscant Home Fleet, catching them completely by surprise. Most of the Republic ships, caught off-guard with their shields down, were destroyed instantly. Using a jamming signal similar to the one deployed at the Battle of Praesitlyn, the Confederate Navy managed to disrupt all HoloNet transmissions throughout the planet.[2]
However, once the initial surprise wore off, the Republic fleet closed in on the Confederate ships and positioned themselves in a defensive screen around the planet. Grievous tried to create the impression that his strike was borne of desperation, as he haphazardly dispersed his warships to target communications satellites,
orbital mirrors, and random targets on the surface.[2]
Numerically inferior due to half the home fleet being reassigned to the Outer Rim Sieges, the Republic naval
commanders fought conservatively while they waited for reinforcements to arrive from the distant battlefields. Anticipating this, Grievous positioned warships at key hyperspace reversion points and deployed mass shadow mines to delay the arrival of any additional Republic ships.[2]
The Republic quickly figured that the Confederacy was using the same jamming device as they did on
Praesitlyn and were able to eventually return transmissions to normal. They also began inflicting some losses on the CIS fleet, even managing to destroy several battleships. In retaliation, Grievous ordered Vulture droid fighters to perform suicide attacks on landing platforms, skyways, and pedestrian plazas in Coruscant's Senate District, causing many military and civilian casualties. Separatist landing craft were deployed onto the surface of the planet, unloading hundreds of thousands of battle droids to create an elaborate diversion while Grievous prepared a raiding party intent on capturing the Supreme Chancellor. Chaos ensued throughout the city, with much collateral damage inflicted in the fighting.

Republic actions

Desperate to repel the Confederacy, the Jedi sprung into action alongside the Grand Army of the Republic. Jedi Masters Yoda and Mace Windu led the clone security forces on the surface in the defense of the besieged Senate District. After ordering Shaak Ti and Stass Allie to find and protect the Chancellor, Windu and Saesee Tiin boarded Jedi interceptors and engaged enemy starfighters in the skies above Galactic City. Windu's starfighter was eventually overwhelmed by a swarm of Separatist ships. Though his wings were rammed off, sending his fighter plunging down, he managed to jump out and take control of an enemy Vulture droid, which he used to assist ARC-170 squadrons.[5][2]
Elsewhere, Yoda used
the Force to throw droidekas into enemy fighters and pull enemy landing craft into one another. Afterward, he moved to help clone forces being overrun by Separatist battle droids and super battle droids in Sector Four. The clone troopers were aided by Windu, who crash-landed his Vulture droid in the middle of the battle droid formation.[5]
Hoping to gain reinforcements, Yoda contacted the Jedi
Aayla Secura, located on the far-away world of Felucia, but Secura determined that she was too far away and so instead put in motion a plan to capture Shu Mai, one of members of the Separatist Council.[13]
Meanwhile, on Coruscant, Amidala was leading the evacuation of the
Senate Apartment Complex with Captain Typho and her droid C-3PO when she met up with fellow senators Bail Organa and Mon Mothma. On their way out, the three ran into the Jedi Shaak Ti and Stass Allie, who informed them that they were looking for the Supreme Chancellor. The Jedi lent the senators Allie's speeder to get them to a shelter. With Organa piloting, they fled for safety, but were shot down by Vulture droids and crash-landed in a public plaza. Unfortunately for them, the droids followed them and prepared to attack the three Humans. Amidala and Organa found blasters in a nearby crashed speeder and began to goad the droids into a position where Low Altitude Assault Transports could take them out. However, the droids suddenly stopped, and took off into the air.[2]
In space, Jedi Master Saesee Tiin led a group of twenty-two Jedi in
Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptors past the Separatist blockade in order to relay a distress signal through the Jedi's emergency HoloNet beacon. Tiin then proceeded to help lead the orbital defense of Coruscant. He landed in the hangar of the Venator-class Star Destroyer Impavid. The vessel was critically damaged by enemy turbolaser fire, and Tiin and his troops boarded the Providence-class carrier/destroyer Prosperous, commandeering it and using the ship's turrets to blast other enemy ships.[5]
The
501st Legion was immediately given mission objectives to board their starfighters in a Venator-class Star Destroyer's hangar and head out to counter the Separatist fighters, engaging them in fierce dogfights. Their goal was to clear a path for Jedi Generals Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi.[8]
The pilots proceeded to destroy a Munificent-class star frigate, as well as the shields and communications array of a Providence-class carrier/destroyer. Several 501st fighters then landed in the enemy cruiser hangar, exited their vehicles, and manually blew up the inner engine cooling tanks. Jumping back into their fighters, the pilots circled the Providence cruiser, destroying its bridge and stymieing the enemy efforts.
[8]
Despite these successes, the Jedi realized too late that the Republic had been lured into a feint and that General Grievous had outmaneuvered them to reach his primary objective—Supreme Chancellor Palpatine.

The capture of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine

As the battle raged around his quarters in 500 Republica, Palpatine's advisors begged him to evacuate his apartment and move to a hardened bunker in the Sah'c District. Soon, Shaak Ti and Stass Allie arrived and ordered the Chancellor to evacuate his apartment.[2]
Before they could leave, Grievous crashed though the apartment window, intent on grabbing the Chancellor right in the midst of his security force. The Jedi managed to escape with Palpatine, while a squad of clone troopers and a
Senate Guard remained behind to deal with the general. Easily disposing of this force with his lightsabers, Grievous went after the Chancellor and his Jedi bodyguards, joined by his own bodyguards. However, after a lengthy chase, the Chancellor escaped. After alerting Homeworld Security Command that Grievous had broken through the defenses, Shaak Ti took the Chancellor and his entourage of Red Guards to 500 Republica's subbasements. There, they met up with Windu and Fisto and commandeered a maglev train that would take them close to the bunker complex.[2]
However, battle droids boarded the train, followed by Grievous himself. Fisto took on two of the General's MagnaGuards while Windu dueled the
cyborg atop the train. After an intense duel, Grievous was thrown from the roof. But the general managed to survive by hanging on to the rails, and commandeered a Republic gunship while a droid gunboat led his pursuers on a chase throughout the city.[2]
After several duels and narrow escapes, the Chancellor and the Jedi arrived at a turboshaft leading to the bunker. Staying behind to deal with any hostiles, Shaak Ti sent the Jedi
Roron Corobb, Foul Moudama, Roth-Del Masona, and B'ink Utrila down with the Chancellor in case she failed, but it was all in vain.[1]
The hijacked gunship opened fire on Shaak Ti and Allie, and Grievous emerged. The general and his MagnaGuards cut a swathe through Palpatine's guards, killing more than forty clone troopers. While Shaak Ti fought off dozens of MagnaGuards, Grievous slaughtered all four Jedi Knights inside the bunker and seized the Chancellor. When Shaak Ti finally arrived, having sensed the setup, she was quickly disarmed, and left trussed up by a
force field wire in order to inform her rescuers that the Chancellor was gone.[2]
Windu arrived just in time to witness Grievous's departure. The general prepared to confront the Jedi Master, however, it never came to a duel. Windu used the Force to crush Grievous's chest, leaving. As Windu attempted to board, the shuttle took off, leaving the Jedi fuming on the landing platform.
[1] Immediately after this, the Jedi Padawan Drake Lo'gaan arrived, although he was too late to help stop Grievous.[13].
In the bunker, Windu discovered the slaughter, and Shaak Ti, who still lived. Though Windu was astounded by the general's audacious move, he and Fisto were soon in hot pursuit, along with other Jedi
pilots including Tiin, Kolar, L'lacielo Sageon and Pablo-Jill. Meanwhile, Grievous piloted the shuttle into orbit, followed by several Jedi. He flew through the heart of the battle to reach the Invisible Hand, evading Jedi starfighters during the transit, despite his shuttle sustaining damage

A failed rescue
As the shuttle carrying Palpatine and Grievous neared the Invisible Hand, several Republic
frigates and corvettes diverted from the main battle and joined the Jedi in their pursuit. Windu and the Jedi were right behind Grievous when a swarm of five hundred droid fighters, launched from a Trade Federation battleship, enveloped the shuttle in a defensive screen.[2]
As the shuttle neared its destination, the flagship opened fire on the pursuing Jedi fighters. While one of their comrades was killed, Pablo-Jill and Sageon were captured by the Invisible Hand's
tractor beams and brought into hangar bay. The two Jedi attempted to defeat Grievous and rescue the Chancellor, but were killed by the droid general in a lightsaber duel. Their bodies were jettisoned into space for the Republic's citizens to see. Safely aboard his command ship, Grievous broadcast a message across the HoloNet, revealing the capture of the Chancellor, and proclaiming an end to the Republic's corrupt reign, inciting panic and fear amongst the Republic populace.[2] However, before he could flee, thousands of Republic warships from the Open Circle Fleet arrived in system and engaged the Separatist fleet. The reinforcements and the beleaguered Home Fleet trapped the Separatist ships in Coruscant's upper atmosphere, under the planetary shields. Falling ships from both sides struck the planet's surface, the impacts destroying large sections of the city.[11]
Meanwhile, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker had been searching for
Count Dooku on Tythe. After exploring a ruined building where Dooku had been, they headed to Nelvaan after receiving word that General Grievous was there. Just as the two finished freeing the Nelvaanian males, who were being held for experimentation by the Techno Union, word of the attack on Coruscant reached them and the Jedi immediately readied their interceptors and prepared for battle

Skywalker and Kenobi's intervention

Unable to escape Coruscant, the Invisible Hand had sustained heavy damage from the guns of Republic Star Destroyers over the course of a full day of battle. A screen of Separatist battleships, destroyers, and frigates sheltered the flagship from further harm, but after hours of sustained fighting, the craft's deflector shields were failing.[6]
At that instant, Kenobi and Skywalker jumped out of hyperspace with a vanguard from the
Fifth Fleet of the Open Circle Fleet. They were unable to communicate with the Jedi High Command due to heavy Separatist ECM scrambling,[6] and were unsure if any other Jedi were out there fighting to rescue Palpatine. As they approached, they found hundreds of Vulture fighters and tri-fighters swarming protectively around the general's command ship, and the Jedi engaged the fighters with the help of Clone Flight Squad Seven. The clones took heavy casualties, and Skywalker was ready to go back and help them. Kenobi, however, would not let him, insisting they stick to the mission. As the duo closed in on the destroyer, they were attacked by a swarm of Vulture droids. The droids fired missiles at them, but Skywalker managed to evade them by barrel rolling, which caused the missiles' flight paths to intersect. Kenobi, however, could not avoid the missiles targeting him, and they finally exploded, releasing buzz droids that attached themselves to his ship's hull. His astromech droid R4-P17 was destroyed, and the droids were rapidly disabling Kenobi's Jedi interceptor as well. Skywalker desperately tried to save his wingman by firing on the buzz droids as well as smashing into Kenobi's ship and crushing the droids, but he destroyed the starboard dorsal radiator in addition to the buzz droids.[4]
As they hurtled toward Grievous's flagship, Skywalker took advantage of the fact that the warship's main deflector shields had been partially compromised and destroyed the atmospheric containment shield protecting the hangar bay entrance. With Kenobi's ship's engines failing, the two fighters breached the vessel's defenses and crash-landed in the hangar, where the Jedi quickly eliminated all security droid resistance. After
R2-D2 located Palpatine's homing beacon, they headed towards the signal emanating from the upper observation deck.[4]
As the two Jedi headed towards Palpatine, they were confronted by more droids in the hall along with wreckage and locked doors, but were able to overcome these obstacles.
[9] After a brief misadventure when the lift they were using was stopped, Kenobi and Skywalker were assisted by R2-D2 in getting to the top of the Invisible Hand's conning tower—the location of the general's quarters—where Palpatine was being held captive.

The Duel on the Invisible Hand

Before the Jedi could release him, however, Dooku arrived, flanked by two super battle droids. Leaping down from the balcony whence he came, he engaged the Jedi. The two Jedi began the duel by utilizing the forms Ataru and Shien in an attempt to deceive Dooku. At first, Dooku was able to easily counter their attacks with his mastery of Makashi. However, he was caught off guard when they switched to their more advanced and preferred forms of Soresu and Djem So.[6] Dooku, unable to combat both at once, Force-pushed Kenobi out of the way so he could focus on Skywalker. Despite this, Dooku still began to tire as Skywalker furiously drove him up the stairs to the balcony. Meanwhile, Kenobi brought down the two droids and headed over to attack Dooku from behind. However, Dooku kicked Skywalker aside and quickly incapacitated Kenobi, slamming him into one of the walls with the Force. Debris toppled over Kenobi, leaving him unconscious. Left to face the Sith Lord alone, Skywalker attacked, using the dark side to fuel him and provide aggression. Dooku was barely able to lift his arms to defend against Skywalker's powerful strikes, let alone fight back. With his strength and aggressive lightsaber technique, Skywalker finally overpowered Dooku's defenses and cut off both his hands.[4]
The shackled Palpatine commended Skywalker's victory and encouraged him to kill Dooku. Skywalker initially hesitated, claiming that it was not the Jedi way to execute a defenseless enemy. Despite his misgivings, Skywalker gave in to his anger and desire for revenge and sliced Dooku's head off, bringing an end to the Separatist firebrand.

Continuing battle

As the confrontation between the Jedi and Sith ended, the Invisible Hand entered a direct engagement with the Venator-class Star Destroyer Guarlara, exchanging broadsides with the warship.[6] Both sides used heavy cannons lined along the sides to demolish each other. The Republic destroyer managed to take out the Invisible Hand's primary systems. Sustaining crippling damage, the Separatist command ship temporarily fell toward Coruscant before regaining control. However, with artificial gravity, tensor fields, and inertial compensators failing, the ship had become a rapidly decaying space wreck. Escape was now Skywalker's priority. He gathered up the unconscious Kenobi, despite Palpatine's demand to leave him and headed back for the bank of turbolifts.[4]
Kenobi soon regained consciousness and the Jedi headed for the hangar with the Chancellor. As they headed back to the hangar, the Jedi were confronted by battle droids, which they dispatched. They then received word that a Republic cruiser was being attacked by a Separatist cruiser, and its systems were failing fast. Anakin took control of a laser turret nearby, and fired on the Separatist cruiser, eventually destroying it.
[9] After this, the Jedi continued on to the main hangar bay. Before they could reach it however, a ray shield dropped, trapping them in hallway 328 of the Invisible Hand. The Jedi, along with the Chancellor and R2-D2, were captured and taken to the bridge and brought before Grievous.[4]
The droid general took Kenobi and Skywalker's lightsabers, boasting about adding them to his collection, but the Jedi were able to recover them with the help of R2-D2, who fired super-hot beams of electricity at Grievous, distracting him. The Jedi were able to summon their lightsabers back as Grievous ordered his MagnaGuards to dispose of the Jedi. After
a quick battle, the Jedi defeated the droid warriors and closed in on Grievous, intent on capturing him. Grievous grabbed an overloaded
electrostaff wielded by one of his MagnaGuards and threw it into the damaged bridge viewport, shattering it violently. Grievous allowed himself to be sucked out into space, and later re-entered the ship through an escape pod hatch. In an attempt to foil the Jedi's escape, he launched every escape pod on his flagship and fled to a nearby Trade Federation battleship. Simultaneously, a communications error between Republic forces led to Home Fleet Strike Group Five savagely attacking Invisible Hand, this time dealing fatal damage to the ship's systems. The Separatist command ship began a meteoric plunge toward Coruscant.[6]
Taking control of the helm, Skywalker attempted to pilot the wreck to a safe landing on Coruscant. Losing structural integrity, the entire rear end of the Invisible Hand tore off due to atmospheric stresses. Despite this, Skywalker successfully crash-landed the ship on a long runway in Galactic City. With the loss of their flagship, the failure of their main objective, and the recovery of their supreme commander, Grievous, the surviving elements of the depleted Separatist armada retreated in disgrace to the Outer Rim

Aftermath
It was later revealed that the battle's only purpose was to get Darth Sidious off the capital to thwart the Jedi's attempts to track him down. Sidious also used the capture of his
alter ego Palpatine to see if Skywalker could use his anger to defeat Count Dooku and become the perfect apprentice for Sidious. His ruse was so effective that even the Jedi were fooled.[4]
With the loss of Dooku, Grievous assumed the title head of state of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, but it greatly destabilized the Separatists' power structure. Without the assurances of victory from the Sith Lord, the members of the Separatist Council began to doubt the abilities of their new leader to keep them safe for much longer. Back on Coruscant, the
Jedi Council made tracking down Grievous and bringing him to justice their utmost priority.

Mission to Utapau

The Mission to Utapau occurred prior to the Battle of Utapau, presumably following the Battle of Coruscant.
Null ARC troopers Kom'rk and Jaing searched Utapau to track down the remaining leaders of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
The
Republic forces discovered General Grievous and the Separatist Council, and immediately informed Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, who saw to it that Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi was dispatched to destroy Grievous.

Mission to Kashyyyk

The Mission to Kashyyyk was a rescue operation carried out by the commandos of the Republic's elite Delta Squad. It lead directly to the Battle of Kashyyyk. The commandos, led by Boss, infiltrated a Trandoshan mercenary camp in order to rescue the Wookiee Chieftain Tarfful. The commandos successfully rescued Tarfful from several of General Grievous's bodyguard droids, as well as obtaining intelligence about the Confederacy's alliance with the Trandoshan mercenaries.
They also found out the number of hostiles on Kashyyyk, which was more then the Republic High Command had thought. The squad then proceeded to sabotage the
Trandoshans' outpost on Kashyyyk, destroying two of their landing pads. When the Confederacy launched their full-scale invasion of the Wookiee tree-city of Kachirho, Delta Squad was the only GAR unit planetside capable of assisting in the defense. Delta Squad managed to sabotage a bridge connecting the two sides of Kachiro, stopping the Confederacy's advance in it's tracks. The commandos also secured vital munitions and ordinance depots for the Wookiees, allowing them to sufficiently arm themselves to fight against the Confederacy. Their final operation was the destruction of a Confederacy cruiser attempting to land more battle droids onto the surface. Following the destruction of the cruiser, Delta-07, the team's sniper specialist, was lost; presumed MIA. Delta Squad was then extracted and redeployed as the Republic invasion force arrived, and the Battle of Kashyyyk was joined.

Battle of Utapau

Prelude
After three years of
fighting, the Galactic Republic began to gain an advantage over the Confederacy of Independent Systems, many of whose leaders were dead. Republic Clone Intelligence soon managed to discover the location of the enemy Head of State, General Grievous.[1]
Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi organized a fleet of Venator-class Star Destroyers carrying an army of clones large enough to capture three star systems, led by clone Commander Cody.[1] Some members of the famed 501st Legion were among the clones in Kenobi's force, tasked to set up perimeter defenses around Hangar 10.

Making contact

Kenobi arrived on Utapau in his Eta-2 Actis-class interceptor under pretense of refueling his ship. He was greeted by Tion Medon, the Port Administrator of Pau City, observed from a distance by one of Grievous' MagnaGuards. Medon revealed that the city was being used as a hiding place by Grievous and his army of battle droids. Not only that, but the droid army was aware of his presence and had ordered Medon to tell Kenobi of their position here. Kenobi sent the droid R4-G9 fly back to the forces and inform the clones of the situation, but he stayed in Pau City to engage Grievous.

The Duel

Kenobi commandeered a varactyl beast named Boga as a mount, and rode in secret to the tenth level of Pau City, where Medon had told him the Separatists were hiding. Infiltrating Hangar 10 of the Lucrehulk core ship Unlimited Projection that served as the Separatists de-facto command center, Kenobi witnessed a meeting of the Separatist Council. During the meeting, Grievous informed them that he expected an attack by the Republic and was therefore moving them to the planet Mustafar. However, one member, the Quarren Tikkes, remained behind.[1]
After the Separatist Council left, Kenobi dropped from the catwalk he was perched on into the midst of a large group of battle droids. General Grievous immediately called upon his
IG-100 MagnaGuards to attack Kenobi, who managed to defeat all but one quickly, using the Force to dislodge a cargo module hanging from the ceiling, crushing them. The remaining droid was disoriented by the attack, and quickly beheaded before it could retrieve its weapon. Grievous's troops prepared to open fire on Kenobi, but Grievous called them off. Deciding to challenge Kenobi himself, the cyborg split his arms along their lengths into four separate appendages. Drawing four lightsabers, he then spun them rapidly in a buzzsaw motion and advanced on the surprised Kenobi. However, Kenobi recovered quickly and thrust his lightsaber into the swirling energy blades. The two engaged in a spectacular though brief display of swordsmanship.[1]
Grievous unleashed a flurry of unpredictable attacks and blows, ramping up the attack until he was demonstrating over twenty blows per second.
[3] However, he remained unable to penetrate Kenobi's defense, so he ramped up his attacks even further. Kenobi, his defense beginning to get overloaded, altered the angle of one of his parries. Kenobi's blade, instead of parrying Grievous's blade, sliced the cyborg's wrist.[1]
Staring in surprise at his smoking stump, Grievous lunged in another attack. After a moment of fencing, another lightsaber clutched in a metal hand bounced on the deck.
[1]
At that moment, Cody and the clone army arrived. While Kenobi and Grievous battled, several dozen
clones managed to infiltrate the Unlimited Projection and they quickly attacked the droid soldiers.

Clone cavalry

Commander Cody led the 212th Attack Battalion in the assault on the Separatist forces in Pau City, aided by native warriors who also wished to drive the Separatists away. Two battalions attacked full force, with the third in reserve to provide reinforcements and cover escape routes. Hailfire droids attempted to repel the clones quickly, but they were destroyed by the clone flagship, Vigilance.[1]
Troopers of the 501st captured several security posts in the Utapaun cities themselves, linking up with Kenobi in the Unlimited Projection's
hangar. Once they took down two AA turrets, heavy LAAT/i firepower support wiped out droids in the hangar. They dealt a final blow by taking out a large CIS power complex, leaving the troops in Utapau in disarray.

Grievous in retreat

When the Republic forces arrived, Grievous prepared to resume the duel, advancing on his opponent. However, Kenobi Force Pushed the general, sending him flying up and crashing against the ceiling. Dropping his two remaining lightsabers as he plummeted to the hangar floor, an unarmed Grievous chose to flee. Landing on the deck, Grievous crawled insectlike to his wheel bike and mounted it, speeding out of the hangar and he dropped to the lower levels of the city, crushing everything in his path, as he raced towards the docking platform where his private ship waited. Kenobi pursued on his varactyl, Boga, but lost his lightsaber after the jarring impact on the way down.[1]
Kenobi pursued Grievous in a furious chase through the streets of Pau City as the battle raged around them. Grievous thrust at Kenobi with an
electrostaff he stashed in the wheelbike, which Kenobi managed to wrench from the cyborg's hands. Kenobi then attempted to destroy the wheels on Grievous's vehicle with it, but Grievous reclaimed it, and pulled Kenobi along with it. Grievous pulled out a blaster and attempted to shoot Kenobi, but the Jedi dodged the shots. Unfortunately, Kenobi's movements off-balanced the wheelbike and it crashed as they arrived at the docking platform, throwing the combatants to the ground.

The death of Grievous

Kenobi recovered first. He grabbed the electrostaff and attacked Grievous, first knocking the blaster from his hands and then knocking him to the ground. Grievous retaliated with a kick that threw Kenobi across the platform. They then engaged in a melee in which, due to his enhanced strength and durability, Grievous had an undoubted advantage. Kenobi, however, managed to pry apart the armorplast plates protecting Grievous's internal organs before Grievous threw him to the ground. Kenobi counter-attacked by kicking Grievous's leg, but only injured himself against the hard durasteel.[1]
Grievous then threw him across the platform. Kenobi barely managed to save himself by grabbing onto the edge. Grievous picked up the electrostaff and approached Kenobi to deliver the killing blow. Desperately hanging from the edge, he used
the Force to summon the blaster to his hand. Blasting through the gaps in the generals armorplast chestplates at the exposed organs, he ignited the tissue. Grievous's internal organs combusted violently, killing the Separatist general.

Continued fighting

Despite the destruction of the Droid Control antennae aboard the Unlimited Projection, the droid army continued fighting. However, they were hammered into submission by the persistent fire of the LAAT gunships. Hangar 10 was secured by the 501st. Anti-air turrets stationed in the hangar opened fire on the incoming LAAT reinforcements dropping off tanks in the hangar, but the 501st disabled the threat. From the hangar, they launched an attack on another Confederate outpost with TX-130S fighter tanks.[11]
The outpost was pelted by LAATs and hover tanks and was destroyed. The destruction of the CIS main
ATX energy pillar assisted a rousing Republic victory.

Order 66

It was then that Commander Cody received a message from Palpatine, instructing him to execute Order 66. Cody ordered an AT-TE walker to fire its main cannon at Obi-Wan, who was on a cliff heading up to the Separatist headquarters. Boga sensed it and jumped in front of the shot, saving Kenobi at the cost of her own life, who fell down the sinkhole and into the lake at the bottom. Cody then dispatched probe droids to find the Jedi. Kenobi used stealth and discreet violence to make his way up to Grievous's starfighter and fled the world.

Outcome
The clones, after a long period of fighting, eventually triumphed in Pau City. However, as the
CIS controlled other sinkhole cities on Utapau—as to control the entire planet—the fighting would continue until the deactivation of the droid army by Darth Vader on Mustafar a short period of time later.

Battle of Kashyyyk

Pre-battle

Kashyyyk was considered a major navigation hub for the southwest quadrant of the galaxy. As such, it was a strategically important system which had long been a target for the Separatist military. Confederacy leaders requested the Wookiees join their rebellion, but the Kashyyyk royal families proved indecisive. General Grievous, having become impatient regarding their decision to join the Confederacy, decided to send battle droids to "persuade" them. Accidentally, the droids killed Prince Rikummee, who was on a hunt, and King Grakchawwaa decided to oppose the Separatists. After a number of probing attacks throughout the war, the Separatists finally decided on a full scale invasion of the city of Kachirho in the Wawaatt Archipelago. This was to serve as a literal beach head into the rest of the forest covered planet. To this end, the Separatists made particular use of the age old hostility between the native Wookiees and their system neighbors the Trandoshans to prepare for their attack. The Trandoshans already had slave camps on Kashyyyk where they held Wookiees captive. Since it was revealed that Trandoshan slavers had something that could be seen as a pact with the CIS it was known that Trandoshans might fight for the Separatists in an upcoming battle. Eventually, the Separatists landed a large droid force in secret and prepared for an invasion. A Wookiee woodsmith, Tarkov, on a grantaloupe hunt with his son Jaccoba, discovered the invasion force and warned the nearest township, Kahiyuk. From there, the alarm clarions spread the word of invasion to the other archipelago cities of Warralokk, Grunnrurr, and Rowrakruk. The Wookiees prepared for war. However, while the system was an important strategic location and both sides believed the battle to be straightforward, it was in fact little more than a diversion by Darth Sidious.

The battle

Later, the clone commandos of Delta Squad were dispatched to find Tarfful and unite the Wookiees against the Separatists. They assaulted a Trandoshan mercenary fortress, breaking through the external perimeter and entering the lower floors. Delta Squad liberated two imprisoned Wookiees from the slavers, one of which revealed where the Chieftain Tarfful was being held. The clone commandos were the first to observe the MagnaGuard bodyguard droids in action, and with great difficulty Delta Squad rescued Tarfful from two of the electrostaff-wielding droids. Then, the clone commandos of Delta Squad aided the Wookiee resistance in Kachirho against the Separatist forces, destroying the Commerce Guild destroyer in orbit. RC-1207 was attacked and Delta Squad lost contact with him. Delta Squad pulled out onto a gunship as the Separatist counterattack came. Later, they discovered they were an advance group for a Republic invasion force.
Meanwhile, Wookiees from across Kashyyyk flocked to
Kachirho, the city chosen for the battle due to it being a lagoon in the Wawaatt Archipelago, and therefore easier for orbital insertion considering the lack of blockage from the high canopies of the wroshyr trees. Among these brave Wookiees was Chewbacca, an old friend of Kachriho's chieftain, Tarfful, who feared greatly that Kashyyyk would be unable to defend itself against the might of Separatist forces.[1] Led by Merumeru, Wookiee warriors established positions deep in entrenchments and revetments. These forces, on the ground and in the ornithopters and Wookiee catamarans, included Salporin, Eugroothwa, Zittaasabba, Attichitcuk, Guanta, Gorrlyn, and Lachichuk.
A team of
Aleena scouts led by the Jedi master Tsui Choi was also assembled to deliver intelligence on enemy maneuvers prior to the eruption of the battle on flying Can-cells. The first Republic forces to arrive on Kashyyyk, the 41st Elite Legion, under the order of Commander Gree, were led by Jedi General Luminara Unduli, soon to be followed by Quinlan Vos and detachments of an unknown unit led by Commander Faie. Alongside sparse members of their respective clone army divisions, Unduli and Vos, as well as Wookiees led by an elder from the Palsaang tribe, Gumbaeki, infiltrated an encampment of Trandoshans, using the Separatist raiding party as an excuse to capture and enslave Wookiees. Destroying the encampment and freeing the hairy simians was a breeze, but an ambushing crab droid afterward caused a bit of trouble yet met its end none the less with the assistance of the Inferno, a ship belonging to the Devaronian smuggler, Vilmarh Grahrk, who'd had previous relationships with General Vos. Vilmarh, or "Villie," alongside his young Wookiee friend, Gumbaeki's grandson, Chak, had apparently recently been smuggling goods to Palsaang.
The Separatist's true intentions in invading Kashyyyk would soon be revealed when a dying Trandoshan,
Karniss, revealed that the CIS came in search of the hidden Claatuvac hyperspace routes that would give them much strategic advantage, which Quinlan would soon discover fell into the hands of Vilmarh, with some assistance from Chak, whose grandfather was a member of the Claatuvac Guild. Come his arrival through dangerous Kashyyyk orbit (due to surmounting Separatist spaceforces) with Chieftain Tarfful from Coruscant, Jedi Master Yoda, who'd maintained good relations with the Wookiees in previous Trandoshan incidents (and earned the title, "Defender of the Home Tree") was informed of these routes, but spoke that he already knew of them and had larger concerns, speaking of focus on the conflict at hand.
After receiving a transmission from the Jedi Council concerning General Grievous's discovery on
Utapau, Yoda went into battle meditation, and Republic forces, out on Kachirho's beachfront, engaged the enemy.[1]
Master Yoda ordered the defense of Kachirho as the Separatist shield generator was lowered and the enemy forces rushed across the lagoon with haste. Merumeru's Wookiee forces rushed across the beachfront to confront the enemy as more warriors swung from the cliffs along the archipelago to place mines on the combustible droid forces. Meanwhile, clone troopers fired from trenches and clone sharpshooters sniped out enemies from along Tree Kachirho. On the vehicle front, Wookiee
Oevvaor jet catamarans were aided by Juggernauts, AT-AP and AT-RT walkers and other assault vehicles. They faced enormous opposition from Separatist NR-N99 droid tanks, DSD1 dwarf spider droids and Heavy Missile Platforms.

Yoda's battle plan
The job of the 41st Elite and detachments of the
501st Legion, supported by Wookiees, was to fight on the beachfront defending the sea wall and to hold the line until Separatist forces were fully committed. When this occurred, Yoda gave the word to Master Unduli to charge on the left flank of the droid army. Simultaneously, Quinlan Vos, along side Chewbacca and Tarfful, was sent across the lagoon to lead an attack on approaching Separatist forces, but Villie still felt it necessary to join in on the action, a decision that led to the ultimate destruction of the Inferno by an enemy gunship. Vos, and the surviving Villie and Chak were immediately sent to a Juggernaut for recuperation.

Beaten back

As the clone forces were being beaten back on several fronts, the massive blockade of Trade Federation cruisers surrounded the planet and blocked any reinforcements attempting to relieve the beleaguered garrison on the planet. So, the pilots of the 501st Legion were dispatched to cut a path through the fleet. Destroying the Munificent-class star frigate defenses, the fleet focused all firepower on the nearest Providence-class carrier/destroyer. Using a high-altitude LAAT gunship, a squad of clone troopers formed a boarding party and sabotaged the inside of the ship, destroying the command bridge, life-support, and engines. They came across a battle-plan holocron, which contained the Separatist's strategies for the ground battle, and delivered it safely back to their Star Destroyer. With a path cut through the blockade, the 501st touched down on the planet and allowed more reinforcements to support the 41st Elite. The battle seemed to go back and forth until, despite the best efforts of the combined Wookiee/Republic defense, Kachirho became in danger of being overrun by the Separatists. The 501st Legion had been beaten back by Separatist forces, which were advancing on the Kachirho seawall and attempting to destroy a crucial oil refinery.
The best efforts of
Clone engineers and TX-130S fighter tanks managed to keep the sea wall intact until General Yoda could arrive to push the CIS back. With the foiling of this crucial mission, the droid army began to retreat from the refinery.

Order 66

Suddenly, Master Yoda was shocked by a strong disturbance in the Force as Order 66 was carried out throughout the galaxy. Clone Commander Gree received a comlink-call on a frequency-locked channel reserved for the commander. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine instructed him to execute Order 66 against General Yoda. A 41st trooper joined Gree and attempted to assassinate Yoda.[1] As the clones prepared to execute him, Yoda drew his lightsaber, sensing what was about to happen, and in one fell swoop decapitated his would-be assassins.[1] Yoda then proceeded to escape into the nearby jungle along with Wookiee warriors Tarfful and Chewbacca, after fighting through swarms of clone troopers. Their quick escape was fortunate. A minute later a Juggernaut fired at the meeting hall, obliterating it. Outside, the battle between Republic and Separatist forces was slowing down: Wookiees stacked wrecked droids while clone troopers assessed the damage to their equipment. Jedi Master Luminara Unduli was conferring with eight clone troopers on the transportation of wounded soldiers back to medships when Order 66 was executed and she was pelted with blaster fire from all directions. Jedi Master Quinlan Vos was reflecting on his decision to leave the Order for his love, Khaleen Hentz, when he was suddenly shot by the laser cannon of a nearby Juggernaut, under command of Faie, who'd just received Order 66.
Quinlan, however, survived, although severely burned, and vengefully slew all the 41st Elite Legion troopers under Faie's command who were searching for him. Eventually, he ran into Faie and killed him, but not without suffering dire wounds from his
DC-15S blaster. Cleverly, Vilmarh Grahrk found him and burned Faie's body, then tricked the clone troopers into thinking it was Quinlan's. After nursing him back to good health in a bacta tank, Villie and Quinlan would return eight months later, where the noble Jedi would reunite with Khaleen and meet his new son, Korto Vos.
Yoda and the Wookiees would proceed to escape into the nearby mountains. Later that evening, Chewbacca and Tarfful brought Yoda to an
escape pod. After exchanging farewells, Yoda left the planet in the pod, and the two Wookiees would go to rejoin their fellows.

Aftermath

As the Republic forces that came to defend the planet from the invaders became the invaders and executed their commanders in cold blood, the Battle of Kashyyyk was over. However, the Separatists were able to break their lines for a second, because of the confusion of Order 66. Reinforcements were able to push them back. At that point, an AT-RT patrol squad patrolling Kachirho and the commando Triton Squad began killing fugitive Wookiees throughout the forest. The Republic forces pulled out of the system soon after the deactivation of the battle droids, allowing the Wookiees to begin salvaging the masses of wrecked military hardware that the battle had left strewn across their world. Ironically, the Wookiees would use this equipment to good use against Imperial forces in the later battle.

Battle of Garqi

The battle
The
clone troopers of the Republic fought the battle droids of the CIS. During the battle, the Republic accidentally bombed a Garqian farmhouse. General Traavis deployed Aiwha Squad to search for surviving civilians and to bring them to a refugee camp to be treated.

Escort mission
Aiwha Squad found a single survivor, a little boy named
Evan. The commandos escorted the boy through hostile-occupied territory, rescuing him from a heavily armed homing spider droid and finally getting him to a Republic outpost. Along the way, the boy got to know the clone commandos, and learned of their dedication to always following orders.

Order 66
When the commandos arrived at the Republic post, they reported to General Traavis, who commended them on their actions and told them that he had heard reports of
General Grievous's death, which would soon lead to an end in the fighting.
Evan said goodbye to the clone commando
RC-1013, just as Order 66 was ordered and the commandos executed the Jedi General in front of the boy. He was told by RC-1013 that the Jedi were traitors and had to be killed, according to their orders.

Battle of Acherin

Background
Fearing the
Galactic Republic's rule was becoming more and more absolute, the planet Acherin joined the Separatist cause early on.

The battle
The battle raged for much of the Wars, until the very end of the war, when the Acherin Separatist commanders began ceasefire-negotiations with the
Jedi General Garen Muln.
Progress was going well, until Supreme Chancellor
Palpatine issued Order 66, marking Muln as a traitor to the Republic. When the clone troopers came for him, commanders Raina Quill and Toma helped Garen Muln flee Acherin in secret.

Aftermath
Realizing the threat of the new
Galactic Empire, the people of Acherin began a resistance movement, and would fight in yet another battle, that lasted almost a year.

Battle of Tar Morden

The battle
During the battle,
Republic forces captured tens of thousands of Techno Union-built LM-432 crab droids from a factory.

Aftermath
The captured droids were later used for live fire training sessions in the
Imperial Academy. These droids were among the inspirations for the later Imperial MT-AT walker.

Battle of Toola

The battle
After weeks of stalemate, the Jedi led an assault team against the enemy's main generators using
motmots as mounts, while the rest of their troops conducted a diversionary attack. The tactic was successful, but soon after their victory, Order 66 was given, and Clone Commander Keller ordered his men to kill their Jedi commanders. In the ensuing firefight, Master Hudorra and Simms' Padawan, Noirah Na, escaped on stolen STAPs while Master Simms covered them, at the cost of her life.

Aftermath
Fleeing towards
Ithaqua Station, Hudorra and Na ditched their STAPs after one ran out of fuel, with Keller and his troops finding them and alerting the garrison at Ithaqua of the Jedi's coming. Despite martial law and a curfew being in effect and with clone patrols covering the streets, Master Hudorra managed to sneak into the city to learn what had happened with the clones.
After finding out about the war's end and the emergence of a
Galactic Empire, the two fugitive Jedi managed to reach Toola Spaceport and leave on a transport for Coruscant.

Mission to Mygeeto
They were sent on a mission behind enemy lines on
Mygeeto, as a precursor to the Battle of Mygeeto. They went against their orders by aiding Walon Vau in his robbery of a bank there, but he made them abandon him, when he fell down a hole and got stuck.

Battle of Mygeeto

The battle began in 21 BBY, and went on for two years[2] until Supreme Chancellor Palpatine declared Mygeeto part of a "triad of evil", three planets which formed Separatist bastions. Along with Felucia and Saleucami, Mygeeto was singled out as a prime target whose fall would help end the conflict.[6]
Subsequently, the battle intensified on the planet, which was a major holding of the
InterGalactic Banking Clan. Galactic Marines, under the command of Jedi General Ki-Adi-Mundi and Commander Bacara, battled the Separatist Droid Army in extended urban fighting amid the ultramodern towers of a major Mygeeteen city. Elements of the 501st Legion fought in the final stages of the battle on Commander Bacara's recommendation, although General Ki-Adi-Mundi was wary due to their operation outside of his command.[5]
The 501st, according to Mundi, were sent to Mygeeto to destroy an energy collector. But actually, the troopers were seeking out an ancient Mygeetan crystal powering the energy collector which was an experimental power source that the Chancellor required for a top-secret tributary laser-stream project codenamed "
Hammertong". The 501st landed and advanced on the droids. Only one gunship could land, due to the particle cannon turrets. They took the bridge and advanced forward to a command post, guarded by several B2 Battle Droids and two magnaguards. With the help of AT-RTs, the clones cleared the post and captured it. Quickly, they destroyed two particle cannon turrets, allowing Mundi to land. After Mundi landed, he eliminated AATs that had ambushed the clones and they continued. He destroyed two shield barricades, two more AA guns and captured a outpost, giving the clones a tactical advantage over the droids. Two more gunships landed, sending more troops.[5]
A platoon of droids met them on the bridge between the energy collector, but with the help of Ki-Adi-Mundi, they plowed through their lines. Behind the lines, Ki-Adi-Mundi then engaged B2 Battle Droids, magnaguards and three droidekas as he destroyed the two shield barricades protecting the energy collector. Afterwards, he destroyed the energy collector. Then, a clone marine collected a sample of the energy, and aided by four clone commanders, gunned down the enemy droids to return to the dropship.
[5]
During a concentrated Republic push to rout the Separatists, fighting spread across the cities of Mygeeto. Ki-Adi-Mundi skillfully used his lightsaber to deflect enemy fire, while leading a force of Marines supported by
UT-AT assault vehicles and other heavy walkers. Tri-droids provided heavy fire that destroyed several UT-ATs.[3]
The battle intensified on a number of vast bridges, which stretched across a great chasm, linking several city districts. The clones continued to secure bridge after bridge. It was here that Ki-Adi-Mundi would fight his last battle.

The death of Ki-Adi-Mundi

As General Mundi rallied his troops on a bridge spanning a chasm between two city blocks, with enemy droids destroying at least several UT-ATs, Commander Bacara was contacted through a secure, holographic comlink that was frequency-locked to a channel reserved for the Commander-in-Chief. The hologram was of a hooded Darth Sidious, Dark Lord of the Sith, ordering him that it was time to execute Order 66.[3]
Bacara complied and moments later, on his order, the clones nearest General Mundi suddenly stopped fighting. Confused, Ki-Adi-Mundi turned around and was blasted by clone fire. The surprised
Jedi Master managed to kill at least two Marines before succumbing to his troops' fire. He was shot seven times.

Aftermath
After Mundi's death, the newly established
Galactic Empire would go on to conquer the planet, claiming it on behalf of Palpatine, who had now taken on the title of Emperor. The Imperial war-machine would keep strict control in the turbulent times following the wars, they extensively strip-mined the planet for a mineral known as durasteel, used in the construction of starship hulls.

Battle of Felucia

The Battle of Felucia was one of the hardest fought battles of the entire Clone Wars. It began with the landing of the 182nd Legion, which after some time, the Republic lost contact with. Therefore, elements of the elite 501st Legion were deployed to begin routing the Separatist army from the planet.
Upon arrival however, the 501st quickly found that Felucia had a nightmarish topography. With dense foliage and seemingly infinite jungles and spores, ambushes were common and easy, and heavier support vehicles were hard to use. The 501st also found difficulty in subduing the feral
Acklays, which would aggressively attack isolated patrols. Only one gunship landed, thinking they could take out the beasts quickly. Rockets and mines were used to great effect, but the group suffered heavy casualties. Two gunships tried to land to reinforce the group, but one gunship was shot by AA guns and crashed in the brush nearby.
501st members protected an
AT-TE from super battle droids and assault droids for some time. About fifty advanced down the hill. They attempted to destroy the vehicle with rockets, but it had little effect, and that made the droids easy targets for the clones. After the onslaught, the clones repaired the vehicle to make use of it. Eventually Jedi General Aayla Secura arrived on Felucia, and was able to lead the 501st contingent to rout the Separatist defenders at a high cost of troops. It was here that Secura dubbed the 501st "the bravest men she had ever seen". She managed to recover a powercell from the crashed gunship and powered up the walker, causing devastation to the CIS tanks advancing on their position.
Aayla then destroyed the six Anti-Vehicle turrets at the Fungal Tree who were causing damage to Republic forces, and moved on.

The rescue of Barriss Offee
As part of the hunt for
Commerce Guild President Shu Mai, Aayla Secura and her troops arrived at the Nigkoe Detention Facility where they believed Jedi Knight Barriss Offee was being held prisoner.
Attacking the facility, the clone troopers, under the command of
Clone Commander Bly, engaged the Gossam Commandos and secured the area while Secura freed both Offee and her Selonian Padawan Zonder.

The hunt for Shu Mai
Still on the trail of Mai, Jedi Generals Aayla Secura and Barriss Offee along with the
327th Star Corps clone troop infantry under the command of Bly, arrived at her heavily fortified compound outside of Kway Teow.
After creating a diversion that destroyed several
B-2 battle droid guards, the Jedi and clones advanced on Aratech BARC speeder bikes toward the compound. They were attacked by several droid starfighters, but these were dealt with by a Republic squad of Incom/Subpro ARC-170 starfighters.
Having entered the compound through a lake and waterfall-access, and let their troops inside, Aayla Secura, Barriss Offee and their Padawans
Ekria and Zonder found that their search was for naught; Shu Mai’s personal ship had left days ago and no one had entered or left the compound since.
While gathering information on the ongoing
attack on Coruscant, the Jedi were informed by Commander Bly that the compound was filling up with toxins. A countdown sequence had also begun, which prompted Secura to order a full withdrawal from the area. Moments before the compound exploded, the Jedi and their troops managed to escape.

A race against time
A clone trooper task force of the 327th Star Corps infantry, under the command of Jedi General Aayla Secura, prepared to attack several of Felucia's water treatment facilities to prevent the Gossam homeworld from being infected by a toxin released into the water supply. This situation had come about due to a self-destruct mechanism designed by President Mai.
The clone trooper reinforcements, brought in by Jedi General
Stass Allie, who then went on to Saleucami, were briefed on the situation by Commander Bly. It was stated that Felucia's defenses were heaviest against air assault, thus a ground attack would be most effective. Since the jungle would slow them down, Jedi Knight Barriss Offee would lead one squad to Har Gau, while a second squad, led by Jedi Padawans Ekria, Zonder and the newly-arrived Drake Lo'gaan, would target Jiaozi. General Secura’s squad would accompany the Padawans and then proceed to Niango. The 327th Star Corps task force then split up and headed into the woods. As the Padawans' force reached Jiaozi, they staged a diversionary attack and withdrawal, to lure the guards away from the water treatment facilities and allow the three Jedi access. The toxins were restrained from spreading further, but remote access to the other stations was impossible, as they each were on an isolated network. Padawan Ekria then tried to raise Generals Secura and Offee, but failed as the transmissions were being jammed. In an attempt at finding out the state of the other forces, Ekria gained access to cameras installed inside clone trooper helmets. This feat might possibly have saved the three Padawans from certain death, as Order 66 was given a few minutes later.

The deaths of two Jedi

When the order was given, Barriss Offee was under siege from B-2 battle droids. Having seen Lieutenant Galle arrive with reinforcements, she ordered him to open fire. She was subsequently shot to death by an AT-TE walker and her own troops.
Aayla Secura had stopped on her way to Niango, due to reports of a Separatist armored unit in the area. As her troops waited, Secura was distracted by a bird suddenly taking flight, while at the same moment Commander Bly received Order 66 and proceeded to shoot his commanding officer in the back. Aayla Secura was finished off by concentrated fire from the clones surrounding her. She was shot fifty-five times.

The outcome
Having witnessed the slaughter of their seniors, the three Padawans situated at Jiaozi water treatment facilities managed to escape their own troops and fled the planet.
After containing the toxins and saving the world, the newly established
Galactic Empire absorbed Felucia into its control.

Second Battle of Cato Neimoidia

The battle
Despite the
efforts of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, the Confederacy of Independent Systems was not ready to give up Cato Neimoidia without a fight.
With his
clone wingmen, Jedi Master Plo Koon, in his Delta-7 Aethersprite starfighter, was tasked with the mission to patrol the skies of the Neimoidian purse-world. As battles raged on beneath him on many of the planet's bridge-cities, the Kel Dor Jedi continued to patrol the skies of the Separatist stronghold, on the lookout for enemy fighters.
On the bridges of the planet,
Republic UT-ATs, AT-APs, and other walkers plus numerous clone troopers were fighting against Separatist droid forces for a way into the cities.

The death of Plo Koon

Flying close now to a bridge, Plo Koon was unaware of what was happening in the ARC-170 starfighter behind him.
Captain Jag answered Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's issue of Order 66 without hesitation. Pulling back a little from the Jedi General, the clone pilot blew the Jedi Master's starfighter out of the sky, killing him.
What remained of the fighter crashed into a building on a bridge-city, the explosion killing some of the
Cato Neimoidia Garrison.

The outcome
Soon enough, the now-
Empire had won the planet after the battle droids of the Confederacy were deactivated. The Emperor himself made law that surviving Neimoidian outcasts on the planet would be taken prisoner.

Battle of New Plympto

The Battle of New Plympto was a conflict that took place towards the end of the Clone Wars.
It involved many battles between the native
Nosaurians, who had joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and the Galactic Republic's clone forces.
Having been denied representation in the
Galactic Senate and having their main export article banned, the Nosaurians turned to the Confederacy, who were more than willing to support them financially, as well as include New Plympto in the movement.
Not surprisingly, the Republic invaded New Plympto, engaging both Nosaurians and
battle droids in mortal combat.
The battle would last until the end of the Clone Wars, when
Dass Jennir, the Jedi General in charge of the clone army, was betrayed by his own troops and almost killed.
Despite deactivation of their droid army, the Nosaurian Separatists managed to escape the battle and regroup.

Battle of Ragmar V

The Battle of Ragmar V occurred when Separatist mercenaries destroyed a Republic outpost there. While landing on a nearby mountain, a Republic gunship was blown up by a Bothan mercenary. Moments after the squad entered the small spaceport, Order 66 broke out and numerous clone troopers began shooting at Padawan Joc Sah. At the time, the Padawan didn't understand what was happening and ordered the troopers to halt. Although the mercenary leader was assigned to kill the Jedi Padawan, he decided to help the betrayed Joc Sah. Together they defeated the group of clone troopers. Then Joc Sah called his Jedi Master Sev, unknown to the Padawan that his master was dead. Some clones were on the battleship, and heard the Jedi's calls. Another squad was sent down to destroy him. If the Padawan or the clones won, is unknown. Possibly ending in another Separatist victory.

Battle of Sarrish
The Confederacy of Independent Systems set together a heavy defense of turbolasers and OG-9 homing spider droids, making it nearly impossible for the Galactic Republic to commence a ground assault. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Commander Cody led teams of ARC-170s and LAATs in their LAAT gunships.
During the battle, teams of
Vulture droids ambushed the LAAT squadrons, taking down Cody's gunship. After crashing into enemy lines, Cody and his surviving troopers made their way through the front lines and scaled a mountain which housed a heavy turbolaser.
The team destroyed the
battle droids defending the turbolaser, where Cody captured the cannon and used it to shatter the enemy lines.
Aftermath
Eventually, the battle droid army was mostly destroyed, and Sarrish was captured by the Republic.

Battle of New Bornalex
A Separatist army made up of Mandalorians, Battle Legionnaire droids and other various battle droids executed a stunning blitzkrieg against the Republic targets at New Bornalex.
One well documented skirmish that took place during this battle involved the
Galactic Marines. While engaging B-2 battle droids, the weapons systems of the Marines' prototype spacetrooper armor failed. Nevertheless, the Galactic Marines fought on, literally tearing their enemies apart with the enhanced strength granted to them by their power armor. This engagement gave the Galactic Marines a fierce reputation.

Battle of Murkhana

Republic High Command, as part of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's policy of "winning the hearts and minds of the Separatists," ordered that the Republic team wait several weeks to give the Alliance personnel the chance to surrender. Instead they used it to lace the entire planet with a thick, laser-blocking artificial cloud cover, a tactic used by Republic forces at the Battle of Paarin Minor.
The battle
After three weeks of fighting,
Jedi General Roan Shryne and Clone Commander Salvo, accompanied by Bol Chatak and her Padawan Olee Starstone, led an assault on an Alliance landing platform in Murkhana City, leading a wing of LAAT/i gunships from the Star Destroyer Gallant.
The clone forces fought against
battle droids and tank droids across the city. General Shryne, aided by the clone commando Climber and his Ion Squad, succeeded in destroying the deflector shield generator that protected the landing platform.
However, the fall of the platform coincided with the execution of
Order 66, which saw the deaths of three Jedi on Murkhana. However, Climber and his squad refused to carry out the order on Roan, Bol and Olee, allowing them time to flee.
Shortly afterwards,
Darth Vader sent orders from Mustafar for the deactivation of the Separatist Droid Army. All droid units on Murkhana shut down immediately. The Jedi had disguised themselves as Corporate Alliance mercenaries, though with no droids left to fight, the clone troopers focused on rounding up their organic enemies.

Aftermath

Roan, Bol and Olee were captured on the landing platform, awaiting transport to the prison facility on Agon 9. Darth Vader himself landed in Murkhana City to learn who was responsible for the escape of the Jedi. Climber admitted his actions, though Bol Chatak suddenly revealed herself as a Jedi and engaged Vader in a lightsaber duel.
The
Dark Lord beheaded the Zabrak Jedi, though Roan and Olee were able to avoid boarding the transport, and later escaped Murkhana onboard a CloakShape fighter. Murkhana was now under the control of the newly-formed Galactic Empire.

Duel in the Chancellor's Office

This confrontation was a key element of Palpatine's plot to destroy the Jedi Order, in which he manipulated Anakin Skywalker to do his bidding. Knowing Skywalker was plagued with prophetic visions of his wife dying in childbirth, Palpatine told Anakin a Sith legend: The tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise, informing him that Plagueis had learned the ability to save others from death, but his apprentice, having been taught this power, killed the Dark Lord in his sleep. Skywalker realized he could use this power to save Padmé, so when Palpatine finally revealed himself to be Darth Sidious—Plagueis's apprentice—Anakin was torn between his desire to learn Sidious's power and to do his duty as a Jedi Knight. After giving up on killing Palpatine on sight, Anakin informed Mace Windu of Palpatine's true identity, though he was greatly conflicted about his actions. Sensing this internal conflict, Mace sent Skywalker to the High Council Chamber and took a squad of Jedi—Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tiin—to arrest Palpatine.[1](This same "dream team" had previously been responsible for the fall of the Crimson Nova bounty hunters organization).
Palpatine expected a showdown, and he was well prepared for it; through the
dark side the Supreme Chancellor sensed both the conflict of Anakin in the Council chamber and the approach of the Jedi Masters onboard a gunship. Palpatine recovered his lightsaber from its resting place within a neuranium sculpture, hiding the hilt in the sleeve of his robe. When the Jedi Masters used the Force to scatter the Red Guards beyond the office's outer doors, the Chancellor triggered a concealed recording device—audio only.

The Duel

The Jedi burst into Palpatine's private office, where Mace Windu stated that the Chancellor was under arrest. However, the shrewd Sith Lord ensured the audio recording would show him as the victim, with the Jedi appearing unduly aggressive towards the seemingly innocent Chancellor. Palpatine activated his lightsaber and launched himself at the Jedi. Agen Kolar was distracted, and Palpatine effortlessly stabbed him. Saesee Tiin attempted to strike the Sith Lord in the back, but Palpatine swung round and cut the Iktotchi down. After two kills, Palpatine immediately engaged Fisto and Windu. Fisto was able to defend himself from three blows before his demise, leaving only Mace Windu to contend against the unleashed fury of Darth Sidious. Windu and Palpatine's duel led them into the public office as Anakin Skywalker landed at the Republic Executive Building in a Jedi airspeeder—for the young Jedi could not bear to let Palpatine meet his death at the hands of the Jedi; at least, not without first learning the secrets of Darth Plagueis. Palpatine tried everything to get past Mace's defenses, shattering the window with a back swing of his lightsaber. Windu and Palpatine moved out onto the wind-blown ledge, where a swift kick to the Chancellor's face sent Palpatine reeling and his lightsaber irretrievably out the window. Palpatine fell to the ground, backing up against the window frame, the Jedi Master's blade centimeters from his throat—and at that moment, Anakin Skywalker arrived on the scene. With the Dark Lord disarmed, Mace again declared Palpatine was under Jedi custody. However, having arrived too late to see Palpatine's intent, Anakin saw only a helpless Chancellor cowering before Mace Windu. Palpatine claimed the Jedi were in rebellion, while Mace declared the ultimate defeat of the Sith. In response, Sidious hurled Force lightning at the Jedi Master, only for it to be deflected back by his lightsaber. The bolts flowed through Sidious, seemingly injuring him and deforming his body. The Chancellor begged for mercy in a raspy and tired voice, claiming that he was too weak, while his face literally melted away. He called out to Anakin for help while Windu pleaded with him not to trust the Sith Lord. Anakin's conflict reached its boiling point as he watched Palpatine suffer. Eventually, the lightning subsided, leaving an "exhausted" and "frail" Palpatine lying on the floor. After witnessing the "disarmed" Palpatine's incredible power, Mace decided he had to terminate the Dark Lord once and for all. Skywalker pleaded with Mace to spare Palpatine, saying he must go before the Courts. Mace said that he could not do that, the Palpatine could sway the decision of the Courts. His face contorted with the enormity of his decision, Windu raised his blade to deliver the killing blow, and Anakin made his fateful decision. In an impulsive act of desperation, the young Jedi panicked and cut off Windu's sword hand. Sidious seemed to shift from weakness to superiority in an instant, sending a barrage of Force lightning to shatter the Jedi Master's body and hurl him out of the window.
Though horrified at what he had done, Skywalker knew there was no turning back from his dark path now. Anakin pledged himself to Sidious' teachings in order to learn the power to cheat death. Darth Sidious named his new apprentice
Darth Vader and tasked him with the sterilization of the Jedi Temple.

Operation: Knightfall

After Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker helped Darth Sidious eliminate Mace Windu, he pledged himself to Sidious's teachings and was given the name Darth Vader. Palpatine declared the Jedi Order as a threat to the soon-to-be Galactic Empire. Darth Vader was assigned the daunting task of rampaging through the halls of the Jedi Temple and stopping this growing "threat": an operation known as Knightfall among the 501st. The troopers of the 501st Legion were transferred to Coruscant from war theaters like Felucia, Mygeeto, Utapau, Kashyyyk, and other planets to serve Lord Vader during the mission.

Penetrating the Temple

Marching to the gates of the Temple with a legion of elite clones, Darth Vader was confronted by Gate Master Jurokk, who asked Vader about Master Windu's safety. Vader asked him where Shaak Ti was, as she was the Temple commander. He replied that she was in the Temple meditating. Noticing the mass of troopers just outside the gate, he once again asked Vader if something was wrong, and Vader responded by igniting his lightsaber through Jurokk's head.[3]
As the troopers dispersed throughout the Temple's vaulted halls, Vader began to eliminate the most powerful Jedi within. He took a small group of clones to capture the
Jedi Communication Center via the Jedi Archives. Upon entering the Temple's Library with the clones, he ordered Jocasta Nu to grant access to the communication room. Sensing something suspicious, she ignited her blue lightsaber, but Vader used the Force to impale her with his lightsaber

Operation: Knightfall

Duels erupted in the library. The Jedi attempted to destroy the holobooks in the library to prevent the 501st troopers from learning any confidential Jedi information. However, the troopers managed to preserve a few bookcases from destruction long enough for a scan to take place. In the ensuing carnage, a Jedi activated a ray shield system and hid in a shield protected room. Vader disabled the shield system and killed the Jedi; proceeding into one of the surrounding halls.[2] While Vader was at the library, some clones took over a Council Chamber as an outpost, destroyed a turret gun nearby, and from there, moved on with the rest of the troopers.[2] As Vader moved into a hall, Jedi snipers ambushed the clone attackers. Vader, at a clone's advice, took down a hulking statue, crushing many of the Jedi. Using a piece to break down the door into a study hall, they proceeded in killing many students, snipers, and Jedi brutes.[4] After battling his way across an outdoor cat walk, the raid continued into the hangar bay, where Vader shot down fleeing Jedi Interceptors with an anti-aircraft gun erected by the clones.[4]
When Darth Vader reached the top of the
High Council quarter, he moved to the Communication Center and activated a beacon telling all Jedi to return to the Jedi Temple; the war was over. A clone private then informed him that a Jedi, Cin Drallig, managed to penetrate upper-level defenses. Vader told him that he would deal with Drallig, ordering the nearby clone assassins to guard the beacon with their lives. Before tracking down Drallig, Vader took the ancient elevator in the High Council Tower and entered the High Council Chamber and slaughtered a group of younglings when they mistook him for the Jedi Knight he had once been. Vader then made his way through the First Knowledge quarter, to one of the many briefing rooms, Drallig's former apprentice, Serra Keto, confronted Vader and engaged him in a duel. Jumping on a balcony that looked over a training veranda in the Tower of First Knowledge, Darth Vader cut down a pillar, and used it to crush her. Drallig, sensing her death, hoped to avenge her in a duel. Vader made his way to the base of the Temple where he found Drallig guarding a group of younglings in the Room of a Thousand Fountains. After murdering two of Drallig's trainees, Bene and Whie Malreaux, the Sith slashed Drallig in the shoulder, leaving him dying. The squad of clones accompanying Vader than blasted at the other Padawans Drallig was protecting, killing most of them.[4]
The majority of Jedi fleeing through the
Temple Precinct were slaughtered by Venator-class Star Destroyers obliterating the area with turbolaser fire.

The raid continues

Meanwhile, the 501st Legion secured all four Council chambers and engaged the Temple Security Force in the main hall. Darth Vader then returned from his duel with Cin Drallig, and collected several holocrons containing Jedi and Sith information. Cleaning up most of the remaining Temple Security guards and Jedi Knights, within the hour, Vader and the 501st were able to completely occupy the Temple.[2]
However,
three Jedi Masters, who had taken something of a military command over the remaining Jedi, led the last of the Jedi Knights into the main hall in an attempt to repel the 501st one last time. The Jedi came out in a sudden, tremendous charge, many holding two lightsabers, those of their fallen companions. This form of lightsaber combat increased the amount of clone casualties. Still, even with the Jedi forces utilizing a different form of lightsaber combat, the Jedi were outnumbered and overpowered by Lord Vader, and their three leaders were killed.[2]
As the Temple burned,
Bail Organa landed on the landing platform of the Temple Hangars to investigate the fire and witnessed the death of Zett Jukassa; he narrowly escaped with his life.[1]
As the Clones continued the attack, Darth Vader discovered Shaak Ti in the accommodation rooms. Even though Shaak Ti dueled the Sith Lord, she managed to disorient Vader, and escape the Temple.

The Jedi mission

Bail Organa intercepted a transmission that Vader set as a trap from the Jedi Temple. Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi set off to the Temple to modify and reactivate it to inform the Jedi to stay away in hopes of saving any other surviving Jedi. Upon arrival, they ambushed a squad of clone troopers of the 501st Legion on sentry duty. Fighting through hordes of troopers, they split up. More clones ambushed Kenobi, and a squad of elite clone assassins attacked Yoda. They both managed to defeat their attackers, and moved on. A clone heavy trooper crept up behind Kenobi, ready to kill him, but Yoda appeared out of nowhere and lifted him off the ground with the Force. In a panic, the trooper fired his rockets up at the roof, which came crashing down. The two Jedi moved the debris using the Force, and headed to the beacon room. There, Kenobi was forced to eliminate the clone assassins that guarded it. After reprogramming the beacon to order all Jedi to flee, Obi-Wan decided he needed to see who was behind the attack, as Yoda had noticed lightsaber wounds on many of the bodies. He could only watch in horror as he viewed a hologram of Anakin, slaughtering his fellow Jedi without mercy or hesitation. Overwhelmed with emotion, Obi-Wan could not watch anymore and pleaded with Yoda to let him kill the Emperor. He could not bring himself to kill Anakin, who was like a brother to him. Yoda told Obi-Wan that he was not experienced enough to face Palpatine. He also explained that Anakin was gone and Darth Vader had risen in his place. Knowing this to be true, Obi-Wan knew what he had to do - kill Darth Vader.[1]
Yoda headed to the
Senate to face Palpatine, while Obi-Wan went to Mustafar to face Darth Vader in an attempt to bring the Sith threat to an end.

Aftermath and Legacy
As the clones secured the Temple they checked off their dead against barracks rosters and burnt the bodies. The Temple remained as a burnt out husk, a stark reminder of the fall of the Order. Palpatine allowed the most elite Coruscanti to tour the abandoned halls of the once sacred place for a hefty fee.
Several decades later, in
40 ABY, the Sith Jacen Solo flow-walked back to the time of the Raid on the Jedi Temple to understand his grandfather's (Anakin Skywalker) motives for his actions, in order to ensure that his own reasons for joining the Sith were not selfish. It is possible he was seen by a clone trooper. Jacen was horrified by Vader's actions after seeing his massacre of the younglings, and determined that he had a much better reason for turning to the dark side.

Mission to Mustafar

Once on Mustafar, Wat Tambor discovered a cave in which to set up a minor base of operations for the Separatists. His Techno Union workers then built an elaborate control center in it, which could be used to control and monitor the droid armies. Next, Tambor contacted Darth Sidious to send the rest of the Separatist Council, along with their guards, droids, and aides, to the volcanic planet. Soon after their arrival from Utapau, the Separatist Council received a message from Sidious.

The mission

When Darth Vader arrived at the control bunker on Mustafar, Nute Gunray, San Hill, and the other members of the council welcomed him. They had previously received a communication from Darth Sidious, who had told them to expect his new apprentice. At the time, the Separatist leaders were demoralized by their recent defeats in the Outer Rim Sieges, the loss of Count Dooku, and their sudden withdrawal from Utapau shortly before the battle. Many of them wanted to sue for peace with the Galactic Empire (which had until recently been the Galactic Republic).
However, upon his arrival, Vader immediately closed the doors of the bunker, trapping the Separatist leaders, their aides, and their bodyguards within. Engaging in a rampant killing spree, Vader destroyed the
battle droids and killed the other guards before looking to his targets. The Separatist leaders attempted to flee and beg for their lives, but to no avail. Within minutes, Vader had slaughtered the entire council in a violent bloodlust—Denaria Kee, Po Nudo, Passel Argente, Nudo's Shi'ido, Shu Mai, Cat Miin, Nudo's aide, Poggle the Lesser, San Hill, Rute Gunnay, Rune Haako, Wat Tambor, and finally, Nute Gunray, whom he despised more than the others for his desire to kill Padmé. No sooner as he surveyed the carnage, his eyes turned a red-rimmed yellow, a trait common for a Sith, for his deep immersion in the dark side. Gunray attempted to reason with the young Sith Lord, but Vader slaughtered the Neimoidian with a lightsaber slash to the torso. After killing Gunray, Vader went to report his success to his Sith Master, who instructed him to deactivate the droid forces, which he did, ending the war. The Clone Wars were over, and the Great Jedi Purge would soon reach its peak.

Aftermath

While Vader was successful in carrying out his mission, his wife Padmé Amidala soon arrived to challenge him about his involvement with the massacre at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. As she attempted to reason with him, Vader noticed his old master Obi-Wan Kenobi on board her spaceship. Believing himself betrayed, Vader choked his wife into unconsciousness. Kenobi also tried to reason with his former Padawan, but without success. Kenobi was forced to fight Vader. Vader was severely injured in the ensuing duel, but was rescued by Palpatine and some clone troopers. However, his condition was so critical that he was forced to become a cyborg to save his life.
Publicly, for at least two months (and possibly much longer) the Imperial elite did not release the news of the raid to the public, using the threat of a possible regrouped Separatist Council to justify expanding the
Imperial Navy and implementing its draconian security protocols.
Although Vader ended the Clone Wars, the Confederacy was not completely destroyed by the massacre of its leaders. In
11 BBY, Gizor Dellso attempted to revive the Confederacy and attempted to restart the Clone Wars, but he and his forces were defeated by Vader's 501st Legion in the Battle of Mustafar. Also, Tikkes was not present in Mustafar, despite what General Grievous had instructed.Several years later, 3 ABY, following the Battle of Hoth, Separatist-aligned B1 battle droids were active during the Battle of Geonosis, attacking both Imperial forces and the rebel soldier Wedge Antilles.
